Hard cold thoughts flooded my head. The people's eyes bore holes through my head. My locker combination wasn't working.
Don't look
I slam my head into my still unopened locker. Anyone who wasn't looking before definitely is now. The code works. I get my books and I wash away into the crowd, people either not seeing me or not caring enough to do anything. Someone slammed into me from the side, laughing, but as soon as they saw me they stopped.Don't listen
"Dude! I hit the freak!"
Everyone stared at me on the ground. I look around, dazed, and everything is quiet. Then it gets loud and louder and I run.
When I get home I go straight to sleep. The school halls are quiet, but not quite empty. I smile and the slight grinding of my teeth fills the void. Everything is moving, the world goes clockwise around me and me only. The people on the ground begging, but what reason would I have to fulfill their requests? Their movement ceases and I am alone again. A gunshot rings through the masses of bodies and everything goes black.
Don't touch
I go to school the next day and it's the same. The days blur together and the weekend is here. I sit alone, staring at the ceiling. My father is still on a business trip, but it's the same as if he was here. The weekend passes.
Another week of school. My father is back. Another weekend.Another week of school. I get locked inside the locker room until a teacher finds me during lunch.
Don't smell
My father leaves. Another weekend. I get an invite from the boy who pushed me to a party. I don't go. Another week of school. I feel bad. My teeth hurt.
Don't taste
My eyes strain with every blink. I can't remember the last time I ate. Another weekend. My father is back. Another week of school. A new person comes to school and doesn't see me. It's preferable to the last new kid. Another weekend. We have a week break. I couldn't tell the difference. My sleep schedule is hopeless. Another week of school. Another weekend. My father forgot to buy groceries. I don't eat. Another week of school. Someone approaches me in class. I have never seen them before.
They say "Hello, my name is Roy. What's yours?"
I respond "Sasha" and smile.
I didn't see Roy again.Don't feel
