In that moment they stared at each other.It felt as if time had froze, eyes focused on eachother..

Jhin had to admit, he was surprised, he did not expect such reaction from her.
To be true, he expected for her to give him that look of discusst, the glare she gave him before.

What was different?

He was confused.

Confused at the fact that she didn't fight, she didn't shout nor did she tried to run or do something

She just lightly laughed, the soft sound of her laugh rose even more questions than before.

"*Laugh* I understand it now" - she began.

That got Jhins interest as he looked at her waiting for an explanation and for her to continue.

"This was how it was supposed to end.."

Jhin didn't reply or question. What was he supposed to say?

Never lowering "Whisper" he locked eyes with the girl. Curious as to how fast things changed, his eyes hinted interest yet amazement at the interesting turn of events.

He finally asked:

"~Why the sudden change? Surely it won't be right for a " demon" like me to live. Won't you fulfill your duty~"

(Y/N) softly smiled at his remark, before she answered with her soft tone:

"I..... I had a little time to think. All the time I tried to ignore the truth and to think that none of it was true but.. Now.. I understand, I understand everything."

Jhin listened as this picked up his interest.

"You see, I was never going to fulfill that promise"

"With all the things that happened, I understood how impossible it was. I was killing all these people claiming they were " monsters" but that can't bring them back. The world will never get rid of all of them.. and I cannot help it.....All that it did... was to bring pain, not only to me but to others.. "

She looked behind her to look at the lifeless gravestones yet again..

" The whole time I was trying to prove a point.. that.. monsters don't deserve life.. But.. Trying to only turned me into one myself.
When you said we were not different, maybe you really were right.
And even with that sacrifice, I still failed..."

"~How so? ~"-Jhin now asked with curiosity.

(Y/N) smiled and turned back to look at him.

" I now know that I cannot kill all of them....not anymore."

" I can never kill you.. "

" ~And why is that? ~"

She stopped to think for a second.
Not because she was confused or lost, but rather thinking on how to word it.
