Somewhat shocked I just nodded like a dumb fool. He took it from her and passed it to me. The look on the stewardess's face was priceless, her face went from excitement because he called her back to disappointment and then it twisted into a rage. She looked like she was about to hurl the sugar cup at him. I accepted the cup of tea and said quiet thanks. I looked back at the stewardess and she pulled herself together quickly and put on the face of professionalism. She looked at him one last time before she continued on her rounds. I heard a chuckle and I looked towards where I heard it come from. It was him.

I looked at him unsure of what to say or do and he suddenly burst out laughing. I was caught off guard; I wondered what I should and just had my mouth hanging open unsure of what to say. What do you say to a guy who suddenly starts laughing without knowing what caused it; "What are you laughing at?" No, that would seem snobbish maybe "May I ask what you're laughing at?" No, who even says that! You know what I'll just ignore him, yea, that should do. So, I ignored him and started working on my laptop again. He continued to laugh for a while and then he apologized for laughing. I looked bewildered at him and might have muttered "so you do know how to apologize" He luckily didn't quite catch what I had said and asked me to repeat it so I brushed it off and said "I said, I accept your apology although I don't know why you found it so funny." I looked back down to my work and tried to make it look like I was no longer listening. He then said "Hi, I'm Orrin" I nodded while I continued to work and said "Lyra". He repeated "Lyra" and I looked up. His eyes were staring at me, I looked away for a moment as I could feel my face heat up. He put his newspaper down folded nice and neat on his lap and started a conversation.

"So... What do you do Lyra?" he looked straight at me and asked after about four hours into our flight

"I work for a magazine as a photographer "I replied thinking (Lyra be strong and confident, you are a grown 24 year old and capable of having conversations with other human beings)

"Really? What type of pictures do you take?" he asked

"Well, it depends on what the magazine wants."

"I see"

"What do you do I asked"

"I work at HG&M"

"Wow you must be someone high up if you get to sit first class like this"

"You must be a world-renowned photographer or maybe you work for a gossip magazine trying to dig up dirt on me if you're riding first class then, am I right?" he commented with a snarky attitude.

"Excuse me? It is none of your business why I am in first class nor should it be, but I can assure you that I am not here to take pictures of you Orrin! "I said with some anger. I mean who the hell does he think he is? Really!

I was thankful that the pilot came on the P.A system to let us know that we would be arriving at our destination soon.

Still fuming I decided it would be best to just ignore him for the rest of the flight. I put in my headphones as he just stared at me and continued working away on my laptop until the stewardess came by to let us know to put away our devices. As the plane was on its descent I slowly put away all my belongings to make it seem like I wasn't interested in talking. As so as we were cleared to exit the plane I grabbed my belongings and promptly left. The less time I spent in the asshole's presence the better my mood would be.

I waited in line to get my baggage at the carousel. I grabbed my bag and as soon as I turned around I bumped straight into someone while dropping the papers in my hand. They helped me pick up as I was apologizing and picking up my stuff. I looked up only to meet the blue-grey eyes I spent the last 30 minutes avoiding on the plane. He held out the papers he had gathered, I don't know what came over me and I can assure you I would have never done this but I was still furious at his assumption earlier so I yanked it out of his hand, sidestepped him and kept walking. As I got closer to the exit I could hear my name being called from behind me. I turned to see who it could possibly be. It was him but why was he calling me, I decided I didn't want to hear it and quickly left the area in search of the driver that Alex had hired to pick me up. I found my name on a paper being held by my dad's butler Thomas and waved him down. As much as I wanted to hug him and get the warm welcome I wanted to avoid being caught by Orrin so I told him to hurry up because the crazy guy from the plane was trying to follow me and that he was super creepy the entire plane ride. Thomas obliged and we headed towards the car promptly. As soon as we were in the car and on our way, I let out a deep breath. Once my breathing was normal I asked Thomas why he was here to pick me up when dad was living in New York? Thomas said that dad had come down to Curitiba (Brazil) to make sure the new resort was being set up correctly. He had just done a partnership with HG&M. Thomas went with my dad everywhere. He was a pilot, chauffeur, butler, assistant and great advice giver all in one. He was  family.
