Chapter 1:Rules

I am not normal. Or so I think. No matter what I do I never do anything right. With all these boundaries and rules, I feel like everything is so limited. No freedom, no outlaws, no nothing. Just rules. I thought magic was something you could be free with. Something that you could take and bring it to a whole other level. I live in the region of California. A small area called Fantisma. I have a brother named Falco who had a very traumatic incident two years ago and of course my parents. My parents are strict. They do not let me use magic after a certain time, they forbid me from using it in school and pretty much the only place I could use it is my house. I remember the day the so-called Magic Rebellion appeared on the streets. All groups of people would join and destroy everything using their powers and magic. After that event, magic was never the same. Everything went from good to bad. Thanks to a stupid rebellion that I did not even go to. Either way, magic can be dangerous sometimes. Take my brother for example. He was a social outcast. He hated rules and loved to use magic wherever and whenever he wanted. One day, he was doing some spells when he did something far from dangerous. He transmitted a ball of energy into a power generator which resulted into him getting an epileptic seizure because of all the energy he had on his hands. He was rushed to the hospital and was put in a coma for almost two years. I was scared, my mom was scared, my dad was scared, and so was my whole entire family. This is the reason my family is so strict with magic. They do not want any of us to go through that again. My family knows everything there is to know about magic. They know the three types of magic which are: Light, Spirit, and Dark. They also know that only a few people can practice spirit magic due to the amount of time it takes to master. Living in this world is not easy. All these rules have made our lives even harder. I just want to know the day in which I can be free and use my magic to do whatever I want. I just know that it will be soon.
