“And guess who’s back!” Jeremy yelled out in the studio, receiving what I think and hope was cheering.

“I’m so excited!” Richard announced happily, and I could almost see how he bounced up and down on his spot, just like we’d scripted it a couple of weeks back when we started preparing for series 25.

“As you all know, Karen wasn’t here with us for the last series, due to the fact that she had to deliver a baby.”

“Come out Karen!” Jeremy laughed, and the amount of applause that came from the studio almost shocked me, as I walked into the room and found myself on a red carpet and an army of smiling women throwing flower petals at my feet, this wasn’t in the script.

I made my way over to the guys, grinning and shaking my head as I waved to some of the people in the audience.

“What the hell guys, I only got a child, I didn’t nearly die!” I laughed as I joined them, making them laugh too, along with the crowd around us.

“Well you were away for a year, Karen, we nearly died without you to keep us on track.” James said, apparently we’d decided to ignore the script. I chuckled lightly at the seriousness of their faces, I wonder if they’d informed the rest of the crew about their little stunt, or if we’re going to get fired or yelled at for hours. Don’t worry that was a joke, they’d never fire us or yell at us for cocking about a bit… at least I don’t think so.

“Oh James, you know just as well as I, that I’d never let that happen. Never.” I said, as we sat down on our couches.

“Now,” Jeremy asked with a wide grin. “Tell us about your child.”

“Yeah you’ve done a remarkable job at keeping the little one away from paparazzi’s and other weird press people, how did you do that?” James asked.

“Well, I’m not the most interesting figure on this program. Like about every newspaper or gossip magazine have been calling me the show’s ‘eye-candy’ since I started here, so I’m more an insult than a presenter, so it wasn’t very hard really, plus the few papz that got close were scared away by my brother.” I told the guys quiet casually, with a bit of sarcasm so it’d come off as funny.

“I’d wish I had a brother who could scare of the papz, they get so annoying.” Richard joked, receiving nods from the other two.

“Yeah, they sort of crowd wherever I go, no matter if it’s the cinema or the baker, they always turn up.” James joked, causing laughter from the audience.

“Maybe we could borrow your brother from time to time, I’d like to drink my Saturday beer at the pub without having to wear my zebra costume for once.” Jeremy added, making the audience crack up once again.

“But now, back to the baby.” Jeremy said when the laughter started dying out.

“What do you wanna know?”

“Everything.” James said while smiling widely.

“Well, his name is Sebastian, he’s just around four months and is literally the cutest little creature you can imagine.” I said, smiling so widely that it felt like my cheeks were about to burst. I glanced over at Richard who sat across from me, with the most sparkling eyes ever, god the way that man looks when you talk about his children is enough to make you pregnant.

“Now,” Jeremy said, “Does he look like his father?” he asked and I felt a blush on my cheeks and a nervous chuckle escape my throat.

“Yes, he do. It’s so weird, like he has the exactly same eye colour as his dad.”
