Aesop's pov:
If I knew things would've ended up like this. I would have never ended up coming to the manor like I did. Perhaps it was a mistake coming here because never did I stop to think that I would find myself at my best friend's wedding who I ever so loved. Not that it matters now I suppose. Seeing the bride walk down the aisle couldn't have made my blood boil more. What's even worse is this run down church. Don't get me wrong it was well put together.
The others worked so hard to clean every nook and cranny in this place. Every window brought in a grey light and a view of decaying trees. To add into this gothic scenery, gloomy weather to suit my mood. It never occurred to me that I would end up caring this much. We're not even close anymore. My eyes lingered on the bride as she walked up those steps and to the groom. What could've been my groom.
I let out a brief sigh before getting up quietly. Everyone seemed too focused on the bride. If I'd stay any longer I'd lose my mind hearing the vows. Why are they even called vows. Don't people understand it's like a promise. Why say your vows if you're going to break them in the end? That I will never truly understand. It isn't my place to talk about either.
It's not like I can predict their future but I have no hope in their marriage. Go ahead and call me selfish because you're not wrong. I'm responsible for what I feel and I'll be responsible for what happens next.Aesop had left the church and went back to the manor. He strolled down the hallway, silently dragging his hand along the wall. A headache was developing and his body was weak. Is this the feeling of being love struck? Aesop thought to himself. He gently rubbed his temples and went to his room. The others will definitely ask where he had gone. Nothing a lie couldn't handle. Aesop locked himself away in his room hoping to settle down.
Eli's Pov:
Back then Aesop and I were truly close since childhood. Ever since he left to the manor we've grown apart a bit. On the contrary at least I'm getting married. I couldn't help but stare at Aesop who was in the pews. I wonder what he was thinking right then and there. He didn't seem to be paying much attention. Rather it seemed he was nonchalant.
It has been a while since we last spoke to each other. That was when I told him about my engagement. Then he proceeded to make small talk and seemed uninterested. Maybe something's been bothering him but I couldn't quite grasp the thought of what it could be.
My attention turned back to my bride. As she was coming up, in the corner of my eye I saw Aesop leaving. It took my by surprise but it felt sad knowing he wasn't going to stay. Perhaps it's best not to overthink it. I should not be worrying about this especially at this time.Eli put his thoughts aside for now and the marriage went on. There was the after party to come. Still no sign of Aesop being around and after a while Eli gave up and just continued to enjoy the after party. Him and his bride seemed happy after all.....but was he truly satisfied? It's a question left to be answered in the future.
Once the party was over, everyone went back to the manor after cleaning the aftermath of the party. The halls were quiet and everyone seemed to be sleeping. Except Aesop who found himself awake at this time. (12:30 p.m.)He had been sleeping for a while but woke up nauseated . It was only natural to get this way when you're feeling tired or stressed. The male got up and slowly opened his door. He crept downstairs to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.
Aesop's Pov:
The sensation of cold water down your throat is refreshing. My stomach was upset but now feels settled in. For some reason I felt anxious. I sat at the kitchen table for a while to recollect myself. My headache finally went away after sometime. I hope this one-sided love goes away too or at least becomes something. After all, Eli and I seem like strangers.
Aesop remained seated in the kitchen for some time before heading back up to his room. It's cold inside the manor and dark especially at night. The silence made Aesop have an eerie feeling and made him more anxious. As he was walking down the hall of the rooms he heard footsteps behind him. The male froze and remained silent. "Aesop?" A familiar voice called out. Aesop was taken aback by this and quickly turned around to face Eli.
A brief sigh escaped his lips.(I'm still updating! I apologize for any errors of any kind. This is my first story published. I hope you enjoy it and know this was for fun only. This story may be short. Please expect angst and sexual content on here.)
