y/n's pov
"give me back my skateboard!" avani yells to anthony who stole her skateboard.
"what will you do about it? you're like five foot." he teases.
"anthony!" she pouts.
"fine." he rolls her skateboard back to her.
"guys, let's go to the tunnel and smoke. i've had a rough day." josh whines.
"all you did was sleep all day." bryce rolls his eyes.
"shut up. i want to smoke." josh crosses his arms.
"let's do it." i pick up my skateboard.
"you guys smoke?" i hear an unfamiliar voice ask.
"yeah, who are you?" anthony turns towards the kid.
wow, he's actually really attractive. i study his features intensely and i'm sure everybody else seemed to notice.
"i'm jaden." he greets.
"hey, man. i'm bryce." bryce introduces himself first.
"i'm anthony. this is avani and that's josh." anthony points to all of them.
"and i'm y/n." i wave softly.
"can i come smoke with you guys? i just moved here from tennessee and i really don't have too many friends." jaden scratches his head.
"sure thing!" anthony smiles and we follow him to the tunnel.
"do not tell anybody about this spot." josh turns to jaden and tells him.
"secret safe with me." he chuckles.
"so how old are you, jaden?" bryce questions.
"dude." josh playfully hits bryce.
"i'm just curious!" he defends.
"i'm eighteen." he nods.
"are you single?" avani smirks.
"uh yeah." he laughs.
"oh cool." she laughs back.
"why'd you ask?" he questions her curiosity.
"i know a girl who'd be interested in you." she giggles looking at me.
"oh really? who?" he perks up.
"oh nobody." she sing-songs.
"avani, are you okay?" bryce looks at her.
"i'm fine. we all know someone who's his type." she admits.
"and who might that be?" josh looks at her and then looks at me and nods.
"why are you all looking at me?" i become self conscious.
"y/n, you're single, right?" avani looks between jaden and i.
"yeah, but-." she cuts me off.
"you two should date." she smirks.
"guys, don't be ridiculous. i'm sure he-." i get cut off by jaden.
"saturday night. you and me." he turns to me.
"you don't have to." i blush.
"don't worry. i want to." he winks before walking in front of me.
we arrive at the tunnel and we all light up the bong. josh gets the first hit. i go last only because i smoke the least out of all of them so by the time the hong gets to me it's nearly empty.
a little bit of weed is just enough to get me high.
i'm standing alone while everyone else is outside of the tunnel doing their own thing when jaden comes up to me.
"hey." he smiles.
"hi." i smile back.
"i'm sorry if i forced you into a date. you don't have to go if you don't want to. i understand if you feel sorry for me." he frowns.
"i want to go. i think you're pretty cute and you seem like a really nice person." i admit.
"i think you're cute too. want my number?" he asks getting his phone out.
"of course." i get my phone out as well.
"where do you want to go? we can go anywhere." he excitedly says.
"ice cream? the mall? i'm cool with anything." i chuckle.
"let's do both. we're going to have a great date." he says while texting my number.
"i got it, thanks." i thank him.
"want to go meet the others?" he nods towards to where they all are.
"sure." i smile and he grabs my hand and puts it in his.
"yes! my matching making skills worked." avani shouts and all of us laugh.
