After riding for so many hours, it was finally daylight. The sun shone as bright as the lamps in each dwelling in the old community. The fugitives had stopped at a nearby lake to wash and partake in their meal. Fiona even found some fruits to eat so that they would not need to use up their rations too fast.
"Do you hear that Jonas? There's some buzzing in the air."
"Wait-It's a search plane! Quick! Hide!"
After using the memories to make him and Gabriel cold, he splashed cold water on Fiona to hide from the heat seeking sensors.
The planes slowly vanished, flying back to the community.
"Fiona, it's safe now! Come out, it's time we have to leave. It's sunset and will soon be night when we can travel in peace."
The three left their bicycle behind and started on the road. Fiona was carrying Gabriel and tending to his needs while Jonas carried the sacks of essentials they had brought for the journey. Together, they trudged on, hoping for a taste of the real world and a new future for themselves.
The next day, they stopped and fed Gabe some warm water they boiled by starting a fire. Afterwards, they ate berries off the bushes and fed Gabe some berry water.
