Not my art!

Oooo! I got a request from DJ_killer103 to do a Dreamswap x reader! I'm honestly excited for how this will turn out. I haven't done too much research on Dreamswap, but I will try my best to get everything canonically correct.

Oh yeah! Btw this is gonna be angsty. If you honestly hate this DJ_killer103, then feel free to tell me and I'll redo.

Here we go!

Background Knowledge

You had been with the Justice Reign for a little while now. They asked you to join because of your soul trait. Kindness. Over the time you spent with them you fell in love with Dream. He felt the same. You two got together. Lately, however, you haven't been feeling very happy. . .

Third POV (I'm switching it up!)

"Face the facts Dream! She has become a source of negativity! Sparing her would be going against everything we aim to achieve!"

Ink opens the door to exit Dream's private study. "And just know this. If you don't take care of it, I  will." With that, Ink left. Dream sat at his desk with his skull in his hands. What do I do?! Everyone had noticed it. The way she walked, the way she talked. Y/n was feeling depressed. It wasn't major depression, not enough for suicide, but just enough to cause negative feelings to spread across the HQ.

Of course Dream had noticed, but he did his best to push it aside. He tried to make her feel happy again! Nothing worked. If Dream didn't do anything, Ink would surely kill her himself.

Dream abruptly stood up, determination filling his otherwise sad eyes. I need to do this. It hurt him. Truly it did. But there was nothing he could do about it. A small voice in his head told him this was wrong and that he needed to think of another way. He, however, drowned it out by thinking of what was good for everyone here.

Dream made his way to her room. He knocked on the door and waited for a response. A quiet 'come in' could barely be heard from the other side, but he heard it. Dream opened the door and saw y/n sitting on her bed, reading a book. She closed it and looked at him. "Hi Dreamy! I'm almost finished with that book you recommended me. I love it so far!" She smiled at him, but he could see the strain on her face when she did.

Dream came over and sat on the edge of her bed. "Y/n. How do you feel? And I want an honest answer." Her smile faltered and she looked away from him. She thought about it for a couple of seconds before responding. "I...don't feel very good. I don't know why...but it feels wrong to...to try and eradicate all negativity now. At first I thought that a world with it would be a paradise. Perfect. But lately, I've been doubting that. Isn't there supposed to be balance? Happiness wouldn't feel the same if you never experienced sadness. Right?" She didn't meet his eyelights.

She knew about the negativity she had been producing. She was swallowed up in all of the thoughts. She also knew what Dream had to do. There was no way that she could convince him to change his mind. He chose his path.

She stood up and walked to the bookshelf, placing the book back where it belonged. Dream stood up as well. He summoned his sword and looked away from her. He didn't want this but. . .

I'd rather her die at my hands than someone else's. It didn't make sense to him why that was. Wouldn't it be less painful for him if he didn't have the burden of her death on him? Maybe so, but if it had to be done, he wanted to do it.

He closed his eyes and sent the sword flying towards her. The sound of its impact was the only thing that filled the quiet room. He opened his eyes and looked back at her. His soul hurt and his vision went blurry. The small voice from before was back, but louder now. It told him that this was wrong and that there must be another way.

But it was too late. He ran over to her, eye sockets wide and teary. The magic sword disappeared leaving only a bloody wound in its wake. She fell back into his arms as he collapsed to the floor. She coughed, bringing more pain to her chest. Dream held her close, looking down at her with regret. "No." He choked out the single word, tears already threatening to pour.

He looked at her wound, seeing how the blood stained her white blouse. He broke.

Tears fell rapidly and he gritted his teeth trying to hold them back. "NO! NO! NO! NO!" He slammed a fist to the floor. "I'M SUCH AN IDIOT! WHY THE HELL DID I LISTEN TO INK?! WE COULD HAVE FOUND ANOTHER WAY!" He continued to cry out of rage and sadness. Y/n brought a weak hand to his cheekbone and whipped his tears in vain. This snapped him out of the state he was in. Dream looked down at her face.

She was smiling at him. Not a strained one. A genuine one. "I-I know h-how hard th-this was for y-you. J-just know." She paused to cough, breaking his soul even more. "I-I don't bl-blame or h-hate you." Dream touched the hand that she held at his cheekbone. He held it there, tears still streaming. "I love you."

She said these words in all honesty and for a moment, Dream could feel the positivity that radiated off of her. Then it disappeared. She closed her eyes. Dream's eye sockets widened and he slowly shook his head.

He broke into hysteria again. "NO NO NO! PLEASE DON'T DIE! GOD PLEASE NO! COME ON! STAY WITH ME! STAY WITH ME! JUST OPEN YOUR EYES! OPEN YOUR GOD DAMN EYES!" He didn't get any response. He hugged her close and rocked back and forth. The tears wouldn't stop flowing. His cries could be heard throughout the entire HQ.

He called out for help. . .

But nobody came.

Just know I will not take offense if you request a rewrite DJ_killer103
