Out of the Blue

Chapter 10

Lisa looked around her room. She had just finished cleaning it and rearranging it to be exactly how she wanted it.

It'd taken a couple weeks but she finally had everything from USA in her room that she wanted. All the things from her old room and some things of her mom's. It was like a bridge of who she was and who she was trying to be.

A knock sounded at her door so she went to answer it. It was Mickey. "Hi!"

"Hi, Mickey." Lisa smiled brightly at her niece.

"Mommy said she's going to the studio. Do you want to go?"

"Studio?" Lisa now knew Marcy (and the others) were a singer(s) but had yet to see the record label or go anywhere fun music related.

"Yeah. It's a lot of fun."

Lisa thought it over. "Okay!"

Marcy stepped back into Tiger Tooth Records for the first time in months. She was unsure how she would feel but blessedly, she felt nothing. She ushered Mickey and Lisa through security and to the lift to Mr. Monstea's office.

The robust man gathered the trio inside. "How are you?"

"I'm getting better." Marcy spoke the absolute truth.

Mickey hugged her mommy.

Marcy smiled.

Phillip smiled at both. "And who is this?"

"This is Lisa. My youngest sister."

His eyes widened. "There's another one?"

"Why do people keep saying that? It's not that many of us."

"It's just myself and my sister."

Marcy pursed her lips. "So what's this meeting about?"

He smiled at winning. "I know you requested time off but I honestly think music is therapeutic. Getting back in the studio can help you."

Marcy had already decided to record another album but she wouldn't be her if she didn't make him sweat a bit. "I don't know."

"It helped the first time."

He had her there. "I do have a few songs I've written."

He clapped his hands once in celebration. "Yes!"

Mickey giggled.

"Did Mommy write songs about you, Little Mickey?"

Mickey beamed. "Yeah!"

"I did?" Marcy teased.

"Yeah!"

Lisa smiled at Marcy being warm. "Did you write a song about me?"

Marcy ran a hand through her light hair and pinched her cheek. "Sure did."

"What's it called?"

"Trouble."

Lisa narrowed her azure eyes playfully.

Marcy wiggled her brows.

Phillip laughed. "Let's set up your times. I'm sure you're eager to get started."

Laura stood back. "What do you think?"

"Wen is going to love it." Marcy was sure.

Mercedes nodded. "It reminds me of Marcy's office."

"Me too." Maddie collapsed onto the high bed.
