Today's the first Friday of the month!! The day all of the quidditch nerds look forward to.
"Alright everyone quidditch tryouts have officially started!" Madam Hooch hollered. "Everyone make four lines, one line per house!"
This marks my 3rd year of quidditch tryouts. Being on the team since my first year means I have to up my skills every year. I always felt a lot of pressure on these days, especially to please my quidditch star parents.
I think I was pretty prepared for today - thank goodness Seamus and I got to do our annual pre-tryout practice yesterday.
"Alright! Everyone hop on your brooms. We are about to begin!"
"Good luck!" I said as I tugged Seamus in and gave him a tight hug.
"You too." He smiled.
As I walked away to go to my starting position, I felt someone barge past me, and pretty roughly too.
"Watch where you're going, Wringbell." It was Malfoy.
I ignored him, because I wasn't going to let him bother me on tryout day. I've done phenomenal every year, and this year will be the same... Just this year was going to be a little more difficult to ignore him, all of a sudden he wanted to be a chaser.
"Ready!!"
"And..."
"Begin!!"Madam Hooch blew a whistle so loud my ears were ringing.
Okay, I've got this. You know the deal, keep your eye on the prize.
Marcus Flint flew past me probably going about 75 mph! He was going straight for Seamus, who was just barely gripping the quaffle. Shoot, he needs backup. I rushed in as fast as my Nimbus could go over to Seamus. Malfoy was now on his tail too. What is Flint doing? He isn't even a chaser!
At the blink of an eye, Malfoy hurled into Seamus leading to the quaffle going nowhere near the hoop. There was absolutely no way Seamus could get possession of it again, but I won't let it get to a Slytherin!
"QUICK! SOMEONE SAVE THE QUAFFLE!" Seamus yelped.
The quaffle was falling down way too fast. No other chasers on our team were near, so this one was on me, my time to shine. Honestly there is a big chance I won't make it to the quaffle, but it's a chance i'm willing to take.
I held my broom with one hand making it easier to grab it, and I dove down as rapidly as my broom would allow. It was just about to touch the ground when I came in and hardly caught it!
"LETS GO AERIA!!" I could overhear Seamus yelling. I was so proud of myself, That was one of my biggest saves ever!
"Malfoy." I muttered. He was catching up to me, and he was swift. I located the nearest hoop that had a chaser near it and kept going.
Malfoy was right next to me now, but I had some faith I could still make it. As I grew closer, I moved the quaffle to the tips of my fingers, ready to throw it in. Just as I was about to toss it Malfoy slammed his body into mine as hard as he could, causing me to lose my grip!
"MALFOY WHAT THE FUCK?!" Seamus yelped out.
As I was falling I only had one thought.
Oh shit.
To be continued...
