The next day I snuck out of the mansion in the early morning before anyone could see me. I used the fence at the back that Leo and I used to use when we were younger.

I was dressed in comfortable clothing and some black sneakers. I walked down a few blocks before I spotted a taxi. I waved my hand and it came right over.

"What's a pretty thing like you doing out so early in the morning?" The old taxi driver rasped while checking me out through the window.

I rolled my eyes before getting in the backseat. "Just shut up and drive."

"You have some guts getting into my car and acting like you own it." He sneered looking at me through the review mirror.

Getting annoyed with his arrogance I grabbed the knife that I had tucked the in the back of my leggings. I put my arm around his throat and pushed him further back into his seat placing the knife on his throat with my other hand.

"Old hag, I thought I had already told you to keep quiet." I spoke in his ear.

His body seems to shiver under my hands, his voice weakening. "I'm not looking for any trouble okay. I'm sorry lady, please let me go."

"Now, get out of the fucking car and walk away. Don't look back or else I will hunt you down and you won't live to tell what happened next."

The old man put his hands up in surrender. "But...but my cab. This is my livelihood."

"Don't worry, I'll drop it off once I'm done. Now out!" I ordered.

He quickly shuffled out of the car and ran for his life, well...as fast as any old man can go. I got into the front seat and started driving.

I drove to the home I had known since I was born. Back to my parents home. After my mother went to rehab thanks to Leonardo having convinced her, it was unoccupied. I didn't have it in me to sell it nor let some strangers stay there.

I parked the cab in the garage before walking up to the stone patio. I moved a few stones out of the way before the key came into sight. I took it and brushed the soil away. Looking around I realised that there was no one around.

I unlocked the door and entered the house. It was just as I had remembered it...COLD. It was dark and everything was just dull. There was no sign that there had once been life in it.

I felt a pang in my chest as I remembered my mother.

"Beth honey, is that you?" I could hear her voice from the kitchen.

"Yes it's me!" I shouted back.

It was a Saturday afternoon and I had just finished my shift at the library. I was tired but also glad because I had just got paid so I could finally buy the prom dress I had been eyeing since long. Leo was going to be so stunned when he'd see me in it.
