There was silence on the other end of the phone. Charlie just stared at my wide blue eyes and grinned. I was so shocked at what he was doing, and he was so loving the fact that I was so shocked.

I stared back into his brown eyes and saw the little gold flecks in them.

"Your eyes are really cool," I commented quietly.

Apparently we had a thing for eyes.

"You are really cool," he smirked.

        Stephanie was still quiet.

Slowly, his hand holding the phone slipped down from his ear, and he set it down behind him.

"I am so in love with you right now, I think I'm going to kiss you," he whispered.

        "Okay," I whispered back.

Yup, Avery was probably watching, but I can't say we necessarily cared.

Until she walked in the room, "Told you you guys were cuter when I was gone."

Charlie sat back on the couch, "We're going to go walk to the beach now."

We walked outside, through his backyard, and down a path in some overgrown tropical-looking woods, then we came to the beach. I grew up fifteen miles from the beach, but never had I been this amazed at how beautiful it was. The sun still shown brightly on the water, the white sand stretched, and no one was in sight for miles.

"Like I said, I apologize for Avery," he sighed, lying down on the warm sand.

"She's fine," I disagreed, lying down near him.

"Yeah, but she picked an inconvenient time to walk in," he laughed lightly.

        "Sure," I shrugged.

"And I still haven't kissed you," he complained.

        "Too bad," I smiled.

I fell asleep again in the warm sun. Thirty minutes later, Charlie tapped my shoulder.

"Are you that tired?" he asked.

"I feel better now!" I yawned, standing up.

"Sure," he smiled. "Let's get back."

We walked back and helped with dinner, which was amazing. After that, the entire family watched a movie, who cared if it was a school night? Basically, I got home at one in the morning... a little after I had planned.

I went straight to sleep, despite Olivia and her mother begging me for details.

I had just received a text message, and it was 7:00 am. I reached for my phone, which had fallen off the couch in the night.

        Good morning, sunshine -Charlie

        Y so early? -Ru

Just wanted 2 be the first 2 tell u good morning -Charlie

Imagine that the adjective 'cute' is a physical object and can be placed in an attractive box. That's pretty much Charlie. And that's pretty much how my mind works at 7am.
