8:00pm
Tom Wilson was having dinner and was watching his favourite TV show. Suddenly,it started raining heavily he wasn't disturbed by the rain not until he saw his TV set antenna had been  tampered with he knew it was the rain at work,he quickly grabbed his jacket and left for the rooftop quickly in order not to miss a scene of his favourite show. After getting to the rooftop he adjusted his antenna and way about to leave for his room downstairs. His gaze was diverted suddenly to a man running on the street chased by someone on a hood. They both had vanished into thin air, but Tom was unperturbed by what he saw few seconds ago. He just shrugged and walked downstairs into his room and continued watching the TV show.

The following morning Tom walked to his kitchen grabbed his bowl, spoon and cereals as usual because he had to live that way after being a divorcee. Although, he missed his wife's delicious meals. But he couldn't help but have a divorce because he was already so sick of her day-to-day nagging of one thing or the other and she also demanded for it so it was the best option. The following week was the arrival of his daughter he was happy after the judge had passed the judgement of his daughter living with him even after his wife refusal severally. Now all he had in mind was his daughter he couldn't  wait for him to give her a long hug all this were still on his mind as his dog barked and he came back to his consciousness. He saw his cereal had overflowed out of his plate and was all over the ground. But his dog had ate everything that was poured on the ground. He knew his dog which was barking was expecting more. He looked down at the dog which was giving him a puppy look.
" That look is not gonna work Joe forget it" Tom said resisting that look as he kept the little cereal left on the cupboard and prepared the one in the bowl and left for the living room. Joe his dog followed him around as he hurriedly had his cereal after seeing the time had been far spent. After being satisfied he kept the remaining on the floor for Joe to eat. Joe wagged it tail as Tom smiled, grabbed his suit case and suit he then buttoned his shirt and rubbed his palm on his dog head then grabbed his keys. "Joe,I'm leaving now there are some biscuit bones at the corner over there." Tom said pointing to a corner behind a shelf in the living room,he waved and left the house locking the door then drove off to work.

Arriving at the court he was walking to his office on his way he was exchanging pleasantries with his colleagues and moved on to his office walking in he could see Paula through the transparent glass in his office demarcating his and her office. She was busy with some files he knew she had a new case. He sat on his chair relaxing he was not having any case so he was free minded he took his TV remote on his desk and turned on the TV in the office what appeared on the TV on the news was "MURDER IN AUSTIN VILLA." The news reporter was narrating the incident saying "As at yesterday night which was 13th of May 2020 it happened that a man was found dead at the church entrance, and was found by the Pope in charge of the church who called on the cops immediately after seeing the body. The cops arriving at the scene arrested the pope saying he was a suspect of the murder and are currently performing autopsy on the body of the victim. The killer is yet to be found but the cops are still making further investigations in the environment and are still searching for evidences. That all for the news." The reporter said as Tom turned off the TV and started brooding on what the reporter said. "Could the man being chased yesterday be the victim and the one on hood chasing him be the killer?" Tom thought aloud as Jeffrey walked into his office. "Did you hear the news?" Jeffrey asked as he badged into Tom's office.
"Yeah I did Jeff." Tom replied as he shook his head in dismay.
"I have a feeling that case is going to get to the court for sure." Jeffrey said as he moved from one end of the office to another. "Bothered?" Tom queried with a arched brow. " Not at all Tom. I'm just brooding on the news. How about you?" Jeffrey asked as he stopped his pacing. "Well, all I feel is that there's something fishy. I have that feeling and we will see soon." Tom said as Jeffrey leaned forward curiously. "Tell me what do you think is fishy about it?" He asked. "Forget it Jeff, and stop looking like a old man who lost his walking stick. C'mon let go grab a coffee together." Tom said laughing looking unperturbed, he stood up and placed his hands on Jeffrey shoulder and they both left the office. On the way to the coffee bay, Anderson was approaching them with his usual grumpy look. "Here he comes." Jeffrey said nudging Tom. Tom just adjusted his suit and brushed the invisible dirt on his suit. "Morning Anderson." Tom said as Jeffrey looked surprised not expecting the Tom that he knows to do that. "I guess that the best for you Tom, because I'm your superior now." Anderson replied with assurance in his voice. He then turned to Jeffrey, and walked away. "Why did you do that Tom?". Jeffrey asked after Anderson left.
"My advice to you Jeff is to act your own way not like mine. Be humble the way you are. We are different." Tom advised as he pat Jeffrey on his back and moved on. "What do you mean by my own way?" Jeffrey queried as he walked quickly in order to catch up with Tom.
