Season 3: Episode 6

I slip on my pajamas, getting ready for bed. I had a huge test tomorrow, and to be prepared, I wanted to go to bed early. Mom was still out shopping, and Sarah was watching TV downstairs. Despite asking her to turn the television down so I could relax, I could still hear her show echoing through the halls. I sigh, ripping the brush through my hair until it is smooth.

While sitting down to read, the doorbell rings. Knowing that Sarah wasn't going to get up, I bound down the stairs and to the door. Peering through the crack, I see a man in a button down red shirt standing on the porch. I open the door fully, " Hello?"

The man turns around and I see Ethan Rayne, the demon summoning, backstabbing traitor, standing right in front of me. His hair was ruffled, and his shirt was unbuttoned a few down. He looks me up and down, from my dinosaur, slippers, to my skimpy tank top. I close my eyes, " Go away before I call Giles."

Ethan smirks, " May I come in?"

I rolled my eyes, backing away into my house, " What wasn't clear about go away."

With this, I pull the door shut, Ethan sticks his foot in the middle, blocking me, " Please, I have something to say. Something is happening at the Bronze tonight, and you might want to be there."

I step fully outside, making sure that Sarah wouldn't hear me talking to him, " Okay. Every time you're here, something bad happens. First, Halloween, then the demon, what now?"

Ethan holds something up in his hand, " Chocolate."

" Huh?" I respond. Looking at the bar in his hand, the same bar we were selling at school.

Ethan holds out the bar to me, " It's for you. You see, I work for the company that makes them and I got a few. It's my treat."

I take the bar, examining it, " And is this supposed to make me grow horns or sprout a tail?"

Ethan shakes his head, " It's chocolate. Now I suggest you go change into something more presentable because you must go to the Bronze."

" No." I say plainly.

Ethan raises an eyebrow, " No?"

" No!" I shout, " I'm busy. I have a busy day tomorrow and am not in the best mood."

" Hence chocolate," Ethan says, motioning down to my hand.

I sigh and turn to open the door. He had a point. " Fine, but only for a bit."

Ethan follows me inside, something I didn't want him to do, but I wasn't going to protest. Sarah looks over her shoulder and gives me a confused face, " Isn't he a little old for you?"

I looked at Ethan, who was smirking, " No, I'm just a friend of hers."

" Friend's a loose term," I mumble as I walk up the stairs, motioning for him to follow.

We go upstairs, where Ethan starts looking around my room. It was pretty basic for a room, a bed desk, and dresser, filled with little trinkets I'd collected. I set the chocolate bar down on my desk before going into my closet to change into the clothes I'd been wearing earlier that day. Lucky, they were still on the top of the clothes hamper. I put on some boots to match before going out, watching Ethan examine my collection of stuffed animals. I go over and sit on my bed, picking up the chocolate. I had a sweet spot for sweets. I glance over to Ethan, " You're sure this won't make me grow a tail?"

He looks back, nodding, " Yes, it is safe."

Shrugging, I rip off the package and break off a square. I look up to see Ethan watching. Intently, I bite down. The chocolate tasted fine, normal. I'd sold some of the same brand today. I pop the rest of the square into my mouth. Ethan comes and sits next to me.
