Chapter 23

Author's POV

The Queen gazed at her face and glared at her reflection. " W-what's.... what's wrong in my face ? What's wrong with my body ?? Am I not appealing ? Am.....am I not attractive ? Huh .....what's wrong in me that , THAT I'M STILL A VIRGIN? I'M STILL..... I'M NOT ALLOWED IN HIS ROOM WITHOUT PERMISSION?" She yelled throwing the mirror away . The mirror hit the wall and shattered in pieces making the maid's run away from her room . The lady in waiting chuckled sipping the Rose tea .

" Ayee my lady , those accessories look kinda pretty on me-"

" MAO MAO !! I'm going crazy over here and you are just moping my jewelries-" she got interrupted by Mao  Mao's evil smirk .

" Aye , you are really vicious , I came here from China just to help you out but your stingy nature is still the same even after being the queen of this whole Kingdom? Tch.....so annoying. " She sighed getting up from the couch. 

" A-ani.....Aniya . It's just you won't understand Mao , how my life is . Even though I'm the queen , everyone knows that neither the King loves me nor spends time with me , what's the benefits of being a queen , I'm not here for his money-"

" You aren't?!"

" I'm.....yes I'm here for money but I'm a woman Mao , I need love and support as well . I'm craving for his attention but see , that man never spares a glance at me .....am I that ugly?" The Queen cried making Mao chuckle . " What?"

" Pathetic ." Mao smirked grabbing the Queen's face. " You look pathetic Xiu Ying. "

" D-dont call me that ......call me queen ." She slapped her hand away and stared at the floor. " I know he takes in the women of dead soldiers to give them a better life and respect , I know he never touches them even though they are his concubines , he calls them noonas but ......I'm not a concubine Mao.....I'm his wife !!!"

" Huh? Are you? Where was that wife all those years ? Why you never craved for him ?" Mao asked rolling her eyes. 

" Because I thought.....I wasn't good enough for him .....I was immature , I was in my teenage . How could I do something to lure him in my room , I loved him since the day my eyes landed on him . I forced father to marry me to him ......but I failed to force my love on him . He .....never loved me. " Ying sighed and covered her face.  " What I did .....not to deserve his love ?"

" You never approached him .....do you?" She mumbled while sipping the tea . Ying slapped her hand away making the tea cup shatter on floor . " Yah-"

" I did approach him-"

" Aniya , I mean .....you approached him when he was in need ? If you are a woman ? Then he's a man too , my lady.  Everyone got their needs .....you just need the right time and right trick to make your man fall for you . You are his legitimate wife not a concubine . Concubines come and go ,they are temporary . But you are permanent . Understood?" Mao smirked making the Queen hum in response while staring out with a sad and pained face .

Ara's POV

" Concubines come and go , they can never be permanent..... they'll always remain temporary no matter how much she gets love and affection . She'll always be called King's whore while her child will always be called as a bastard . Sogum-ah , I don't want a life like that ." I sighed looking out of the window while she plated my hair .

" But Miss ? You are betrothed to the King of this kingdom , besides you are the Blue eyed maiden . You can't go away from Majesty's clutch . Besides everyone say that he's wife is just wife for his name , but in reality she's just a virgin beauty. Do you think King really......loves you?" Sogum pointed making me blush and turn around to shoot death glares at her. 

" D-doesn't  change the fact that he's married and g-got a dozens of concubines. " I covered my flustered cheek once the flashback of the blue haired Taehyung kissing me popped out in my brain. " Ahhhhh shut up . He's just using me coz I have blue eyes . No wonder he was trying to flirt with me , hmph ." I puffed my flustered cheeks .

" I.....but just imagine , if he really loves you and not just for your eyes ? What if you guys marry? What if you end up being his queen .....ah.ah....ahhhh mianhe !!!" Sogum yelped as I pulled her ear . Her mouth was running like scissors oof . I shook my head.  " Aish but just imagine~"

" I can't Sogum.....I'm not allowed to imagine something which will never happen. Him and me are like parallel lines. Even though we walk together , be together......we can never meet . Just like parallel lines ." I smiled with a pained look on my face .

Even though I love him. We aren't destined to be together , our love story will never get completed . The curse seems true .

I'll never be able to get with my true love .......never. 

Author's POV

Jin smiled as he stared at the beautiful night sky while Namjoon kept whining about the fact that the older male was accompanying them . But on the other hand Jungkook was quite excited to go back his motherland . Where he was born and first walked , holding his father's hand. He smiled and looked up .

Finding her was hard , but he knew that she wasn't just a myth.  Somewhere she was also staring at the night sky like him. His heart thumping for her wasn't just his delusion but it was reality . Same as her existence. She was there . He believed It . He felt it. 

" Please wait for me ." He smiled hoping that she'll hear him. He raced through the woods and meadows . The excitement run through his blood while his hair looking majestic as he tear the wind , riding away from the sleeping Mesmeria . He knew his mother will be worried and will panic but he also knew that , the woman who gave birth to him , whom he calls mother , was understanding .

'She'll definitely understand me' he smiled while making his way towards the city of lanterns .....
