"How does it feel?" Sunroar chuckled. The ginger black-striped she-cat thrust her long-ish muzzle in the direction in which she smelled prey, indicating to Highwings where it was. "Frog, by the way," she added casually.
"Thanks. And, I'm not sure," Highwings laughed breathily, crouching down and wriggling her haunches in preparation for a pounce. "Feels weird to have my name announced to the rest of the Clans. Makes me nervous, actually. What if they don't like me?"
Highwings took the leap, darting through the undergrowth. The frog was there exactly like Sunroar had said. It initially attempted to make its escape by leaping into the nearby pond, but Highwings was too fast for it. Her thin, agile paw swiped and caught it midair before it touched the water, pinning it on the ground and tearing the life out of it. She nodded towards Sunroar to continue, while she picked up the prey in her long muzzle.

Sunroar smirked at her. "After that catch, you seriously think they wouldn't like you?" With her jaw clogged up by the frog, Highwings just shrugged. "Augh, whatever. Even if they didn't, there are always new kits or apprentices or warriors from all of the other Clans. You'd be forgotten anyway."
Highwings raised her eyebrows and nodded again, this time in agreement, or at least understanding, to the she-cat. She began walking away, carrying the frog in her muzzle, intent on continuing to hunt in this flourishing newleaf.
The she-cats went on strolling through the swamp. Sunroar was able to catch a rather lazy lizard, but her main talent lay in tracking, not hunting. Most of her time on the hunting patrol was spent indicating where prey was to Highwings, as her advanced nose made her able to pinpoint almost exactly where it was. Highwings hauled in two mice, a shrew, and even a rabbit - rather out-of-place in the swamp, but a welcome surprise anyway.
They were in the section of their territory further from camp and closer to the Carrionplace. Even around here where they were still technically in the forest, the trees began thinning out and the rotting stench was faintly detectable. The two cats made sure to steer clear of it. The only time the Carrionplace was really of service to ShadowClan was in leaf-bare, or other times where prey was running thinner than usual. And while the Carrionplace always had some food to give in those tough times, the dangers that lurked there usually required any hunting patrol to enter with a few well-trained warriors.
