The door bell chimed indicating that someone just walked through the door.  I sighed and left my place behind the counter.

I walked to the table putting on my best and welcoming smile.

"Hi....welcome to Betsys what can I get you?" I asked the teenage couple what the wanted. They ordered and I walked away giving Mike our chef their orders.

This is basically my life. Ever since I left Sweden and moving in with my best friend here in New York.

The day that ruined my whole life.

The day that got me disowned.

I shook my head to clear the thoughts of that awful day.  I felt a hand on my shoulder, startled I jump.

"Sorry E. I didn't mean to scare you" I turned with a hand on my heart. I looked at my bestie Cammy and sighed

"Its fine Cam. I shouldn't have been day dreaming at work" I took in her outfit. She was dressed professionally. She works as a consultant at a law firm. While I'm here taking people's orders and barely getting any sleep.

"I know you hate this job E. That's actually why I'm here." She grinned

"Just spill it already" I said getting impatient. I don't mean to be like this but everything is just frustrating

She rolled her eyes at my lack of enthusiasm "Well I got u a job" that immediately got my attention

"What? When? How?"

"Calm down. Its for this super handsome friend of mine. He's in need of a personal assistant while he's in town and I put in a good word for you. So you have and interview by 8 am sharp." I smiled widely

"Thank you so much. You are the best"  She laughed when I jumped up to hug her.

"You don't have the job yet OK? And you know how you can be" she said giving me a knowing eye.

What? It's not my fault my last boss was an egotistical asshole.

I rolled my eyes "I know Cam. I know how to control myself"

"If you say so. I have to go now. My break's over.....bye E" she waved at me before leaving the shop.

I was finally home. It was pretty luxurious seeing as Cam's dad is the ambassador of Sweden to America. It was pretty awesome. But not as awesome as what my life would have been like had I not been disowned.

My phone rang bringing me out of my thoughts. I smiled when I saw it was my brother Christof

"Hey bro"

"Hey lil sis. How are u" I sighed

"I've been better Chris. When can I come home?"

I heard him let out a very long sigh

"I don't know sis. Dad is still very angry"

"I can't believe he didn't believe me." I let a stray tear fall. "Anyway how are u and Kat?" I asked trying to change the subject.

He sighed again "We're fine.....she's actually a few weeks pregnant" I squealed so loud the neighbors could have heard.

"I am so happy for you"

"Yeah" I frowned

"Is everything okay bro. You don't sound happy about it"

"I am its just.....its just I don't know if I'm ready to be a father." I nodded even though he couldn't see me

"What are you talking about? You have been an awesome brother to me." I don't understand what he is talking about. "You have always been the best with responsibility. You are gonna be a great father even if u don't think so. Its gonna come naturally to you bro I just know it."

I heard him sigh "I hope so sis. I have to go now but thanks. I'll remember this" I nodded even though I know he can't see me.

"Okay. Say hi to Kat for me."

"Will do. Bye sis" I said bye and we hung up.

I walked to my room to take a shower. When a picture on my dresser caught my eye. It was a picture of me, my mum, my brother and.....my dad. I heaved a heavy sigh.

I don't just understand why my own father would not believe me. I would never do anything to hurt my country. I could feel my eyes begin to blur. I quickly blinked them away when I heard Camilla shut the front door and call for me. She would be upset if she says me like this.

I took deep breaths to calm my breathing before going downstairs.

"Hey Cam. You're home early" I said moving over to the kitchen where she was pouring herself a glass of white wine.

"Yeah. I had quite a day....want one?" I nodded .

"What happened?" I got comfy as we moved to the couch.

"Some douché spilled coffee on me today while I was still in my modeling clothes. And he claims I bumped into him." Did I mention she's also a model?

No?

Okay! Well she is. I mean if course she is, she's like a goddess. She has a perfect body. Perky tits and a round ass. While me I have 36dd tits and a fat ass. No one would ever want me maybe that's why he betrayed me.

I gasped "The nerve" I rolled my eyes with an amused expression

She gave me a bored look knowing I was being sarcastic "Its not funny. The dude is lucky I was rushing to get back to work." I nodded knowing she would have cursed him out.

"Anyway....what are we doing tonight?" I asked just wanting to stay in watch some Netflix and chill

"I don't know about you but I got a hot date tonight" I rolled my eyes knowing she was going to say something about me still being single in

No- "You know we could have a double date if you weren't as single as a Pringle" she said with a small laugh at the end. But it wasn't to me. The only guy I ever had interest in turned out to be an evil fucktard who ended up being the cause of my exile.

She must have seen the look on my face "You have to move on. Der- " she cut herself off knowing his name wasn't allowed to be mentioned. "He was an idiot for doing what he did"

I nodded agreeing with her. "I know but I just need time. Besides no one has caught my eye in New York yet".

She sighed standing up when she saw the time. "I have to get ready for my date but this convo isn't done" I gave her an innocent smile which she rolled her eyes to. "Also don't forget about your interview tomorrow* she said before finally walking away.

I nodded and silently thanked her knowing I had completely forgotten.

I got cozy in my bed. Knowing I was tired and would probably fall asleep through the movie, I set my alarm for 6:30 am. I plugged in my phone and turned on the flat screen. turning it to one of my favorite movies on Netflix the notebook it was a sad movie that always made me cry but I loved it.

I must been really tired because I found myself in the land of dreams halfway through the movie.
