Vallery and Avery's college lives had just begun. They got enrolled to Aster University in Asterin City. They were so close you wouldn't for a second think they were half-sisters. But they weren't very close as kids. Even though Vallery had black hair and Avery was a total blondie they still had a slight resemblance.

The sisters were on their way to school and Vallery was about to put on her headphones as usual.

"You really need to stop using your headphones all the time. Especially when we're on our way to school." Avery said.

"Come on. What's the worst that could happen?" Vallery said.

"Um...you could get hit by a bus. That's what." Avery said.

"You're so dramatic." Vallery said.

Avery's phone rang and she reached into her purse to get it which totally diverted her attention from Vallery. Unknown to the sisters, a runaway cart was rolling down the street. Avery looked back up and saw a rolling cart close enough to hit Vallery.

"Val! Watch out! Behind you!" Avery yelled.

But Vallery couldn't hear her. So Avery closed her eyes in fear. Just as the cart was about to hit Vallery, a guy pushed her out of the way and the cart crashed into a tree.

"Are you okay?" the guy asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay, I guess." Vallery said in a little shock due to the incident.

Avery opened her eyes and apparently, a guy had saved Vallery. She thanked him for saving her.

"Thank you so much for saving my sister." Avery said feeling relieved.

"Sure thing." the guy said as he turned to leave.

"Um...I didn't get your name." Vallery said holding him back.

"It's Tyler. Tyler Brooks." he replied.

"Oh, Ok. I'm Vallery Wilson. Once again thank you so much for saving me Tyler."

"Yeah, sure." Tyler replied and walked away.

"And you said I was being dramatic when I told you not to put on your headphones." Avery teased.

"Yeah, whatever." Vallery replied and walked away feeling a little embarrassed.

Classes were over before they knew it and Vallery planned to have a nice, relaxing evening practicing her vocals but her sister got in the way of her plans.

"Val! Wait up!" Avery yelled from a distance.

"What now?" Vallery whined.

"Well...I have an audition today and I need your help." Avery said

"What do you need my help with?" Vallery asked.

"I need your voice to pass the auditions." Avery said anxiously.

"You have got to be kidding me. No way! You have to pass the auditions yourself. And besides, your voice isn't that bad." Vallery replied.

"Come on! You know how I've always flunked my past auditions. I mean, you have a great voice and with your voice I can pass the auditions and when that happens I'll have little or no problems with the other stuff." Avery said.

"I have a bad feeling about this Avery. It's wrong. I can't. I don't want to." Vallery said.

"Please sis, pretty please. Just this one time. I really need to pass the auditions this time. And haven't you always wanted people to hear your voice? Well, through this, they'll be hearing your voice. They just won't know it's you but all the same your voice is still gonna be heard." Avery pleaded with a pitiable look on her face.

"Alright ,I'll do it. But just this once, okay?" Vallery said

"No problem. Thanks sis. I love you!" Avery said as she skid with Vallery to the auditions.

"Avery recorded Vallery singing the song 'A Mile Away' by Laura Martinez and played the recording during the audition. All she did was to lip sync. She was scared because she taught the judges would find out but luckily for her the judges didn't have a clue that she was only lip syncing to someone else's voice.

A week later she got an email saying that she had passed that audition. She was so happy. Although she was kinda feeling guilty because she only lip synced she didn't let the guilt overwhelm her joy. She went over to Vallery's room to break the news to her.

"Hey, Val! Guess what?"

"What? You passed the auditions?" Vallery guessed

"Yup, I sure did. I'm so happy right now sis. My dream as a singer will finally come true. It almost feels like a dream. Anyway, thanks for helping me reach this point sis. You're a lifesaver. I love you so much!" Avery said.

"It's my pleasure. What are sisters for anyway?" Vallery answered.

Avery left and Vallery continued watching the live concert of her favorite popstar and idol, Laura Martinez on her laptop. Laura was like the most popular Female singer in all of Asterin.

"If only I had the courage to get on stage like Avery maybe things would have been different right now. But since I can't I should at least help my sis reach her goals. It's the least I can do for her right now. But I'll definitely be like Laura someday. I will. Because it's my dream." she said determined to be even better than her idol.
