“YES! I WIN!” You screamed, filled with joy after beating (F/C) at yet another game of (favorite game).
“You cheated!” (F/C) tried to make your consecutive victory less… victorious.
“I did not!”
“Did too!”
“Did NOT!”
“Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater!” (F/C) laughed.
“I hate you.” You said, punching their shoulder jokingly.
“That hurt, (Y/N).” (F/C) said, motioning at their heart. “Anyway, gotta go. It’s getting pretty late.”
“Okay. Try not to die again on your way home.” You smiled.
“Very funny…” (F/C) said sarcastically.
“Well, I try. Anyway, see you tomorrow.”
“Bye.” They said before you closed the door.
“Well, that was fun.” You said to yourself as you headed to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
After brushing your teeth you were ready to go to sleep. It was 1 a.m. and you were too tired to put on your (nightgown/pajamas/t-shirt). You fell asleep as soon as you laid down on your bed.
--------------
It was around 3 a.m. when a loud thump woke you up. At first you thought you were dreaming but decided to go check it out anyway. You didn’t turn on the lights because you didn’t want to risk giving yourself away.
After slowly going downstairs you looked around in the darkness. You couldn’t see much since it was, you know, dark but after a while your eyes adjusted to the darkness and you could see a silhouette walking towards you. You figured the person hadn’t noticed you yet so you moved away and after making sure they were upstairs you ran out of the house and called (F/C). You probably should’ve called the police first but you were too scared to think straight.
“Ugh… hello?” You heard (F/C) ask drowsily.
“(F/C), I-I think there’s someone in the house.” You said quietly now standing on the street.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes! Just come here, please.”
“Okay, I’ll be right over.” And with that they hung up.
After a few minutes, give or take, (F/C) finally arrived at your house.
“So what exactly did you see?” They asked.
“Well, technically, I didn’t really see anything since it was dark but I know there’s someone in my house.” You explained.
“Okay, wait here. I’ll go check it out”
You nodded and remained on the street.
After a while you got worried and finally decided to call the police.
“911, what is your emergency?” You heard a woman’s voice.
“H-Hello. I-I think there’s someone in my house.” You whispered.
“Okay, I need you to remain calm. What’s your address?”
After telling the woman where you live, you hung up. (F/C) was still gone and you couldn’t help but worry. You knew going in the house to check was a bad idea but what if they were stabbed or shot… or worse. After thinking for a while you quietly entered the house and after looking around, you headed upstairs.
It was quiet. Too quiet, you thought.
“(F-F/C)?” You whispered quietly.
“Right here, (Y/N).” You heard them call from your bedroom.
“So did you find anything?” You asked after entering the bedroom.
(F/C) didn’t say anything. Instead, they closed the door and locked it.
“What are you doing?” You asked, confused.
“Something I’ve always wanted to do.” (F/C) said, pulling out a knife.
You gasped in horror and started walking backwards until you hit the wall.
“I-I don’t-“
You were interrupted by sharp agonizing pain in your stomach and looked down to see (F/C) holding the knife that was now covered in blood. Your blood.
Sobbing, you collapsed on the floor before them.
“W-Why?”
“I didn’t want to do this.” (F/C) said. “I really liked you but you left me no choice. You cheated.”
“It was all because of a fucking game?” You asked, now filled with anger.
“It’s not just a game. You see, it’s-“ They were cut off by the sounds of a siren. “You called the police?!” (F/C) asked, now clearly scared. “That doesn’t matter. They can’t save you. It’s too late for anyone to save you. Game over, (Y/N). And this time, I’m the winner.”
And with that everything around you went black as your last breath left your body. Forever.
