No one knows how it started. At first, people thought it was just another quirk that a villain was using. Random attacks sent from afar that had people go crazy and try to eat others. Many Pros were able to catch the afflicted people and take them to get help.
It was strange. Even Recovery Girl’s quirk couldn’t heal them or set them free. It was like they were already dead.
Then, something happened one day, when Recovery Girl was checking up on a patient that had been bit by one of the afflicted, him having bad headaches, his skin turning a sickly gray, a dry mouth, and a fever. He turned into one of the afflicted, and that was how we knew that this wasn’t a quirk.
That’s when things got even worse. Apparently, some of the afflicted had retained their quirks, and broke out of their quarantine. The hospital was soon overrun with afflicted and those who were able to escape had been bitten and turned within days. The virus had spread across the globe within a month, due to a gas being released all around the globe. Civilization was in ruins.
