Music is my Heart

I hit another chord on the piano, but still it won't work with the melody in my head. I can't get anything to work today, not after the fight. It's like it messed with my heart.

I can't get May's parting words out of my head, and I better soon. There are people on Kelli's radio station who claim that they NEED my music on there. They probably wouldn't if they knew who I am. According to Kelli, I'm a shy but nice person. According to May, I'm a loser.

I guess you could call May the "rich girl" of the school. You know, the one who has all the money and seems to think that that makes her better than everyone else? I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does.

The phone rings. I don't feel like talking to anyone, so I just ignore it, but after the phone stops ringing, I get a video call from Kelli. Before I have a chance to close out the window, her face popped up on my laptop screen.

"Whatever May did, you can get over it. You are better than her. She has no talent. Unless being mean is a talent," Kelli says. I sigh. Kelli is like a sister to me but sometimes she drives me nuts. "Now let's hear what you have," she insists.

I sigh again, but I know there's no arguing with her when she wants something. I start my introduction of flowing arpeggios. When I get to the verse though I completely blank out. I put my head down on the piano.

"I love the intro but I can't say the same for that weird chord." I look over, thinking she's serious, but then I see her smile.
