★-------- AS THE FOUR girls walk down the long hallway with a James trailing behind them as always. Stephanie started rubbing her temples as she kept hearing the chaser pester her best friend.

"Come on, Evans. Just one date." He begged as he followed close behind lily.

"Potter, Shut the bloody hell up." Stephanie finally snaps as she shoots James a glare, making James yelp in fear before quickly covering up like it didn't scare him. He walks over to her with a smirk, draping his arms over her shoulder.

"Aww, sorry my little seeker." James ribbed as he smiles, Stephanie look up at him in disgust before jabbing him in his guts and walking away. She heard him groan and the girls laughing before catching up to her.

"That's my girl!" Lily cheered, wrapping her arms around Stephanie and hugging her.

"He's a complete idiot." Marlene joins and as they all share a laugh before walking into potions.

"Hello girls." Slughorn greets them as they walk inside, they all greet back and walk to their spots that were in the middle of the classroom. After a couple minutes they heard a bunch of mumbling and laughing.

Stephanie turns her head and sees James, Sirius, Remus and Peter walk in. James walks and with his arm around his stomach and Sirius who was laughing non stop, Remus shakes his head at his two friends with Peter following behind him. Once everyone quieted down slughorn began.

"Okay class, today we will be doing partner work." Everyone groans.

"When I say your name and your partner's name, you both will get up and get your ingredients for your potions." Slughorn explained.

"I swear if I have to work with one of those idiots, I will die." Stephanie says making the girls laugh.

"Potter and Rose." Slughorn read off his list. Stephanie's face scrunched up in disgust, making the girls try to hold in their laughter. Stephanie looked at James who was already looking at her with a smirk. She groaned before getting up and walking to his cauldron.

"You better not mess this up, Potter." She hiss as she sits a good distance away from him.

"Why are you worried about me." James pretended to be offended.

"Maybe we should worry about you." James crossed his arms.

"Hate to break it to you, Prongs. But Rose here, is top of the class beating your sweet Evans." Sirius whispers, making the dark hair girl laugh. James hits him on the head before getting up and walking to get the ingredients whispering incoherent words.

He comes back with a tray of the different ingredients. Stephanie stood up and opened the text book and scanned through the instructions of the potion they learned about the past few days. Stephanie started cutting up one of the ingredients as James read the next step.

"You're doing it wrong." She says as she put my ingredients in the cauldron making the bubbly liquid a different color.

"What do you mean." He asks as he looks up from what he's doing. Stephanie takes his knife and smashes the small bean.

"Smash it, not cut it." She says looking up at him and meeting his eyes, the shorter girl clears her throat before handing him the knife back and walking back to her spot continuing on to the next step. They continued working together barely speaking unless they had too and finishing being second after Remus and Alice.

"So how was it working with James." Marlene asks as the girls leave potions and walk to the great hall for lunch.

"Not bad, we barely talked." she shrugged. She turns around and sees James speed walking towards them.

"Speaking of the devil." Stephanie mumble looking back at the girls. Lily groaned when she heard James call after her.

"My darling Evans!" James yelled behind them as they started moving in a faster pace,

"Go faster!" Lily whispers yells as she pulls onto Stephanie's arm. They started walking faster making James walk faster also, they finally entered the great halls. They walk towards the gryffindor table and sit at our usual seats.

Stephanie grabs a bread bun and starts eating, suddenly they heard huffing behind them and yelling. Stephanie turned her head and saw James out of breath and Remus scolding him. James looks up and his face lightens up when he sees Lily looking at her. Lily quickly turned around and began eating again.

"My sweet Evans!" The bench dipped down when Stephanie felt James sit between Lilly and Stephanie. She turned her head back to her bread when she felt the other side of the bench dip more, she sighed before looking up at the figure and met eyes with dark eyes.

"Hi Rose." Sirius smiled

"Hey, Sirius." She smiles back before taking a bite of her bun.

"Bloody hell, what happened to that poor Ravenclaw." James suddenly said, Stephanie drops her bread on her plate and leans back to see the Ravenclaw who hair was pointing straight up, Stephanie starts laughing but ends up choking on her bread. Sirius eyes widened and quickly pours her a cup of water and slides it towards her, she chokes out a thank you and drinks down the water.

"Stephanie Mae Rose." Lily whispers-yell at the black hair girl. Stephanie finally swallows down the water and gives Lily an innocent smile.

"You did that?" James said in disbelief, Stephanie nods and goes back to eating.

"Amazing." Sirius mumbles looking at her in amazement.

"Don't encourage her." Lily huff looking at Sirius. "When did you even find the time to do that, you were with us the whole time yesterday expect..."

"Expect shower time." Stephanie finishes her sentence.

"Those twins are a horrible influence." Lily sighs before going back to eat, Stephanie laughs and looks up to see James still with a shocked face.

"You good, Potter. It's getting awfully quiet without your horrible flirting ." Stephanie ridiculed taking her last bite of her bun. Everyone laughs as they see Jame's face turn to a hurtful expression.

"I never took you one as a prankster." James ignores Stephanie comments and leans closer like he's trying to find something in her eyes.

"Don't judge a book by it's cover, Potter," Stephanie says standing up and grabbing one last piece of bread

"Come on let's go." Stephanie says with a mouthful of bread making Sirius laugh.

"I have a feeling we're going to be good friends." Sirius says as he puts his arms around her shoulder.
