[name] snuck in through the bedroom of his ex girlfriend. Helen was sitting on her bed, a frightened look in her eyes as she watched him enter. "What took you so long?" She asked with narrowed eyes.
He raised his eyebrows at her tone. "You called me like ten minutes ago and I'm already here. I can't teleport. As fun as that would be." He mumbled the end but she heard and rolled her eyes.
"As mature as always."
He had just been about to take his jacket off but stopped at her comment. This was the reason they broke up in the first place, because she said she needed a more mature man but when she called him to come over, he rushed over, forgetting all about how she dumped him. "I'm just going to leave if you're going to be like this."
"No." She said quickly, getting off her bed and rushing over to him, putting her hands on his arms. "I'm sorry. I've just been having trouble sleeping." She looked up at him. "Please, stay."
He sighed and nodded his head, shrugging off his jacket and placing it on the closest chair. "So, why did you invite me over?"
She moved back to the bed and he sat on the chair, spinning it around to face her and leaning back in it. "I - I've been having trouble sleeping... nightmares." She of course left out the details about the guy stalking her and her old friends. The fear of him was keeping her from sleep. "I was hoping... you'd stay the night... I always slept better when you were here." Her voice shook slightly.
He looked at her with surprise. "You want me to stay?" He asked in disbelief. "Why not ask Barry?" The name came out bitter. Barry was Helen's previous boyfriend. He was more immature then [name] was and he was a fucking dick. He and [name] got into more then a few fist fights in their encounters with each other.
"Because he doesn't make me feel safe. You do." One of her biggest mistakes was breaking up with [name]. With everything going on, she needed him now more then ever. "Me and Barry are over."
"And so are me and you." He snapped. "I shouldn't even be here. You don't get to break my heart and then expect me to do what you want."
She looked down at the bed, feeling tears in her eyes as exhaustion and frustration overcame her. "I'm sorry... but please... just for tonight. I won't ask you for anything ever again."
When she looked back up, he saw her glossy eyes and that made his resolve break quickly, already feeling guilty for making her feel that way. He was such a push over. He rolled his head back before standing up. "Fine. I'll stay."
A wide smile broke out on her face and she jumped up, racing over to him and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Thank you so much." She said.
He nodded his head, gulping at the feeling of her body pressing up against him. His mind went cloudy and he tried to focus himself again. "Yeah, no problem." He mumbled.
She pulled back and she grabbed his hand. He was already in comfy clothes so he allowed her to pull him onto the bed. He laid down beside her, body tense and he didn't know what to do. Did she want him to just lay there and not touch her?
She could see the thoughts swirling around in his head and after putting the blanket over both of them, she put her head on his chest and her arm over his waist. He tensed up even more and she hoped he wasn't about to push her away. She was already feeling the comfort she so desperately needed. "Thank you again. You don't understand how much I appreciate this."
He felt himself relax and he wrapped his arm around her. You know I would do anything for you, he thought. The silence surrounded them but [name] was wide awake as he stared at the darkness of the ceiling.

During the middle of the night, an unknown figure stood in the blonde girls room. A sharp hook by his side and his face hidden by his coat. He tilted his head menacingly when he saw a man in the bed with the girl. One who hadn't been there the night he had been hit by the car but even so, if he got in the way, he would kill him to.
He dragged his feet over to the side of the bed, looking at the sleeping mans peaceful sleep. He lifted his hook, pointing it directly at the mans eye. If he only pushed an inch forward, the hook would go right through the eye and into his brain, effectively killing him.
But the time for him to die wasn't yet.
A groan left [name]'s lips and that made the killer know it was time to leave. He opened the door he came in from and snuck away. Only [name]'s eyes had opened just as he left and he squinted his eyes. "What..." He sat up and turned the lamp on beside him, not seeing anyone. He could have sworn...
"What's going on? Is everything okay?" Helen asked in a sleepy tone.
He looked around the room once again to see if the figure was real. He shook his head and his shoulders slumped, coming to the conclusion that his mind was playing tricks on him. "No, everything is fine. Go back to sleep." He leaned to the side and turned the lamp off again, an eerie feeling in him.
If only he knew that what he saw wasn't an illusion and the silhouette was the very person who was going to take away the one he loved before he could blink an eye.
