Lauren's P.O.V
"Operation who what now?" I couldn't help but frown in my confusion. The way that (Y/N) had a radiant smile plastered to her lips on made me even more confused of this whole situation.
"Operation Norminah. It's a way to win Normani onto our side. Therefore, she could give us some information about the rebels and what the strategy is like and how we can adapt to it." That certainly didn't help my understanding of what the hell was going on.
"And what has this got to do with me?" I questioned, my finger point to my chest as I completely furrowed my brows in my confusion. My mate rolled her eyes as a low groan left her lips as she tried her best to get her point across. Even though she was an Alpha, she had her moments where she acted like a pup with this being one of them.
"You're the one that Normani trusts the most so, if you can help her by telling your story. Become friends. Tell her about us, how we met. Teach her that not all Werewolves are bad." The penny seemed to drop my lips made an 'o' shape as I nodded. (Y/N) chuckled lightly at my revelation but that soon stopped when I once again frowned.
"But what if Normani thinks we're only doing this in order to gain her trust and what happens if she thinks that I'm only trying to befriend her for the sole purpose of winning her over to our side." A soft sigh left my lips. "That doesn't seem like what a friend would do." My arms were now crossed against my chest as I now looked at my mate who seemed to look slightly defeated.
"I hadn't quite thought that out..."A small rumble rose from her chest, her wolf obviously complaining about her missing the important details that could go wrong with this plan. Of course, it was the only real one we had seeing as the rebels were strengthening in numbers every single day and posed a threat to the kingdom and the throne that we both sit upon.
"Look, I believe Normani is a good person. Seeing how she reacted when you brought her back from, your humble beginnings as you put it, she seemed that she realised she judged you wrong. I saw that glimmer. I see the hope that Normani can change." (Y/N) considered my words, her own face distorted in her thought, her hand place over her mouth whilst she paced back and forth in front of me. I could tell that she was somewhat nervous, playing out every scenario in her head and just the sheer thought of my mate being in any sort of discomfort seemed to just get under my skin.
Grabbing my mate's hands, I compelled her to stop pacing and look at me. The slight glimmer of golden shone in her (Y/E/C) eyes suggested that her wolf was starting to surface due to her anxious behaviour. She seemed to of relax slightly, just from the simple touch I gave her, her shoulders slumping slightly as a warm pleasant smile overtook her lips. My hand couldn't help but move its way up and down my mate's arm, letting a gentle squeeze to her shoulder ease her nerves.
"This plan will work. With the right method and right way of approach, it will work. You just can't let it seem that you only want Normani for one purpose and that being getting information about the rebels." I couldn't help but hear the small growl rumble from (Y/N)'s chest from the mention of our enemy. "In good time and patience, we will find out more about them...but first." With a smile plastered to my lips, I leaned up slightly to place a chaste kiss to (Y/N)'s lips.
I knew I would never get over those fireworks and butterflies every time we kissed. Or how soft yet firm her lips were and how they always seemed to sweep me off my feet.
"First we must gain Normani's trust."
----------------------
'Ouch...that must of hurt.' The thought echoed in my head as I grimaced, watching Dinah slam one of the cadets to the floor, the wind being totally knocked from his lungs. I think everyone who was watching could feel the pain the poor boy just had to endure. With a groan leaving his lips, he did a few weak taps on the ground causing Dinah to let the boy go, not before holding her hand out for him to take.
With Dinah being one of the military generals, she still had her duties and seeing as the rebels pushed forward every single day, she offered to train the cadets in order for them to be prepared for battle and seeing as she had to supervise Normani, she was her too.
Standing beside me, with a conflicted gaze upon her own mate.
"To say your mate isn't giving these soldiers any slack is an understatement." I managed to murmur to Normani. However, the disgusted look on her face only made my stomach turn.
"Don't call her that." She hissed slightly. It was obvious that Normani was having a hard time excepting that her mate was a Werewolf and I couldn't help but feel an abundance of sorrow for the blonde Polynesian. I could tell that her wolf loved her mate with every ounce in their body and it was obvious they would risk their life for them. It's just bad that the human sides haven't really hit off.
"Well, like it or not, it's what the Gods have paired us with. I mean, (Y/N) is a werewolf...or was." My eyes flickered downwards as I furrowed my brows. This seemed to intrigue Normani as her gaze seemed to linger on me just a bit.
Phase one is a go. Get Normani interested.
