The Warm Ones

The Cold Begins

The world used to be a beautiful place. There was singing, laughing, dance, and joy in the world. That was until everything went cold. We call it "The Cold Era." What is The Cold Era, you ask? Well scientists began working on a way to create artificial happiness. They tried to create an injection type drug that would make people happy and have no after affects like alcohol and cigarettes did and would last way longer. But they miscalculated the results, and it turned peoples blood cold. They were still alive but all there feelings turned negative. While trying to reverse what had happened an explosion occurred due to an overload on their system. The drug spread throughout the lab. Later on we found the drug was like a disease and spread from one to another.

After about 3 year it had spread around the world and only a few were immune to the disease. The weird thing about the disease is that it only affected humans. All other species weren't affected. After a while, People decide to call those who went cold, the cold ones and the few who were immune became known as the warm ones. All hell had broken loose, it seemed. Fights broke out everywhere over the smallest of things. Someone so much as brushes against a cold one and a fight could start. Police, Military, Government, etc don't even exist anymore because people decided it became to hard to deal with others. 

The world slowly became a survival of the fittest. You want food, you must get it yourself. You need water, go find a lake or something. Everything you need or want in life must now be earned by yourself. Stores, workplaces, and other normally crowded areas became abandoned. Some people even chose to just stay home rather than go out and deal with others. The warm ones who kept their warm feelings grew terrified of how the cold ones acted and slowly started to disappear. Some felt there was going to be no future so they ended it for themselves. Others tried venturing out to find some way to make the world better and others decided to just accept that this was how the world was now. This is how the world became as it is now in the year 2065.
