Into The Depths

I walk off stage, followed by my three band mates. We had three days to spend in Germany, and nothing planned to do. Sitting in the green room, Spencer comes up with an idea.

"Why don't we go explore these Nazi tunnels I found out about on the internet." He suggests, knowing we all had nothing better to do. As a unanimous decision, we all head deep into the woods down an overgrown path. The entrance to the tunnels looming in the distance. It was fully dark by time we made it to the entrance, leaving a more eerie feeling than before. Spencer spins the handle, opening the door. The smell of fear and death leaks out of the open underground compound. I lead the way, followed by Ryan, then Jon, and finally Spencer. We carefully walk down the steps, having only our phone flashlights to light up the darkness. Down the stairs and through a small maze of corridors, I find a door. I open it and look around the room, spying some writing on the wall across the way. I drag Ryan over with me, since he knew a little German, and ask him to read it. He reads it aloud, then translates it the best he could.

"Dämon ich dich beschwören, I'm pretty sure that says Damon is a girl." Assuming it was just some graffiti from a couple kids that were here before us, we ignore it. Ryan leads me out of the room, followed by the door slamming behind us. Jon and Spencer scream from inside the room, scared by the noise. Ryan and I slowly try to open the door, finally getting it to open after some time. Despite the small scare, we continue deeper into the bunker. On the second level down, we stand in another room with more random German graffiti on the walls, Ryan translating those as well. In the silence of the room, we hear three knocks on one of the other room's doors. Jon and Spencer go to investigate while Ryan and I go downstairs again. There's several loud bangs upstairs, almost like gunfire as Jon's screams crescendo. Not long after, Jon and Spencer were back with us claiming some 'thing' had grabbed Jon and tried to take him. They described it as a human-like stature but it had no features, as if it was just a silhouette of a person. Against our better judgment, we walk deeper into the bunker; things get weirder as we continue. On the third floor, a brick was thrown at Ryan. Again we continue deeper, like something was pulling us further in. We couldn't leave. The fourth floor was when everything started getting intense. Ryan was thrown across the room into Jon and Spencer. I continue further, not caring if the others were following me or not. Ryan tries to make me turn back, I refused every time. Hours later the first of our phones die, the others close behind. Still we continue further- deeper, and deeper. I reach what I assumed was an office that would've been the fallout capitol. I walk around, sitting in a chair at the far end of a dilapidated table. I pretend I'm Hitler while Ryan, Jon, and Spencer pretend they're Nazi soldiers. After our jokes subside, a fifth figure joins our party. Jon and Spencer's allegations of a featureless figure were correct as the shadow follows us through the tunnels. A sense of impending evil draws me further and further down, Ryan admitting he had the same feeling as well. Our shadow follower disappears, causing Jon and Spencer to get uneasy, Ryan and I relieved. We see a sign reading we were on the 60th floor, agreeing to turn back after we explore this floor, we branch out. I find nothing and regroup with the others. Just as we turn to walk up the stairs, the figure from before stands before us. The figure was different now, he had a face, and a body. He seemed to glow, but it wasn't comforting in the slightest. I ask who he is.

"Oh Brendon, don't you know? I am everything, overshadowed by this world assuming I am evil. Creating a fake god, and worshiping him. I'm going to tell you four this, and you shall understand who I am. I am known by your world, but not in the way I truly am. I am a god, not the entity your world so lovingly worships. I am what you would call Lucifer, but that name is not mine. It's what your people have named me, not knowing my true name, Dallon."

"Dallon? That doesn't sound menacing like the devil's name should. Like 'oh no here comes Dallon, he's gonna get you' doesn't sound scary."

"Fools, I am not evil as you may think. Your ignorant world created that image for me. I am one of forgiveness, and kindness, so long as I get what I want."

"And what is it that you want?" Ryan asks for me, as I was too stunned to move.

"You." He points at me. "I knew I needed you, and I've drawn you to me since I first knew your face. Your destiny was to grow up, become a successful musician, tour the world, and finally disappear in Germany one night."

"You influenced my life? Now you're going to take this away from me? That's horrible."

"You will have eternal life, living by my side. As my consort."

"No, I want my life back. Ryan, Jon, and Spencer are my everything. I can't leave them, even if I do get to live forever." I try to argue my way out of spending eternity with the devil. He doesn't reply, only grabbing me around my waist and us magically being taken elsewhere.

"Welcome home Brendon." He leaves a kiss on my cheek and walks away.
Ryan's Point of View

Dallon just up and left with Brendon. I need to go find them, assuming they would be in these tunnels since we needed to be here for Dallon to find us, I set off. Jon and Spencer follow me, deeper once again into the tunnels. Corridor, after corridor, after more corridors, I search for my best friend. My flashlight turns off as my phone finally dies and I continue looking in the dark, knowing they wouldn't be in the dark. I stumble through more long hallways, trying to get even a hint where Bren would be. Finally it hits me. I just had to make it to the bottom of the bunker, I start running down the stairs, praying there wasn't many more floors under the roughly 70 I've gone down. I make it to the bottom, and see a small amount of light at the other end of the hallway. Under an impulse that my Brendon was in there, I run across the extra long hall towards- hopefully- my best friend. I have to have Spencer and Jon help me open the door, since my small frame couldn't manage to do it alone. Inside, as I predicted, was Brendon tied up to a large bed. There was no sign of Dallon. I rush to untie Brendon, noticing he looked more disheveled than when he left. I finally untie the knots and pull a crying Brendon into my arms. Once he's calmed down enough I let go of him and an unseen force pulls me off the bed and pins me to the wall. I notice Jon was pinned up next to me on the wall. Suddenly Dallon appears from nowhere.

"I told you that Brendon was mine. You just don't listen. Now I'm angry, and when I'm angry, I'm not forgiving." Dallon waves his hand and I feel pressure on my throat, like he was strangling me. I slowly lose my vision, and fade from consciousness until through the last glimpse of light I see Spencer tackle Dallon. I regain full consciousness and watch as Spencer continues to fight Dallon. Time after time, Spencer gets hit after hit on Dallon. Suddenly Spencer makes one wrong move and is pinned to the wall, Dallon focusing his entire attention on him causing Jon and I to fall to the ground. Brendon runs up behind Dallon and stabs him with a piece of a broken mirror. Dallon drops Spencer, and falls to the floor grasping his wound and screaming a line of several swears. Brendon stares at the heap of man on the floor, passing out himself. After an hour of waiting both Brendon and Dallon wake up. Dallon looks at Bren with a sense of shock, like he couldn't believe his consort would hurt him. The small horns on Dallon's forehead disappear and replace themselves onto Brendon's. He stutters as he tries to find the words to say.

"I-I can't believe this. I'm, I'm the devil. Ryan I didn't want this," Tears start streaming down Brendon's face, "I don't want to be this powerful. I want my old life back. I want it to be just the four of us, living our dreams on the road. How am I gonna explain this to the fans?" He pauses, "How am I gonna explain this to my mom?" He continues blubbering while I pull him into my arms again.

Three years later, we still haven't figured out how to tell the fans- or Brendon's mom- but we found a way he could hide his horns until we could tell them. It's been a crazy three years nonetheless, and I hope there's many more years to come. I hug Brendon sitting next to me in the breakfast nook of our tour bus. He really is my best friend, and I would do anything to make sure he was safe. I know Jon and Spencer would too. Brendon tells me he's ready to come out, after explaining his plan, I agree to help him. That night, we step up on the stage. Brendon steps up to his microphone.

"Everyone, I have something to tell you."

Such drama. Much scary. Not really, again this was just an English assignment. I kinda based sorta off my sisters Biblehs, but with a twist. Well really the only similarity was Dallon was a devil who wanted Brendon, who kicks his devil a*s and becomes the devil himself. But that's also apart of another book we're writing together. I was kinda hinting at Joncer and Ryden and Brallon, but my teacher is super Christian and probably wouldn't appreciate the gay. So its low key gay. Maybe if you peeps want I could write a second part about Brendon coming out... about the devil part... and maybe his love for Ryan. Whatever I'm Brendon and this is my colourless life.
