Bleary-eyed, I went downstairs for breakfast, the house was quiet... too quiet. I poured myself a bowl of cereal and ate quickly, I ran into the basement, "Mom?" I called into the darkness, with no response... I felt my way down the stairs and flicked on the light... "M...mom...?" I whispered, I ran to her side and began shaking her "Mom, wake up!" "MOM PLEASE!!!" I fell onto my knees next to my motionless mother, tears rolling down my cheeks "Mommy..." I run to my room and collapse on my bed, wishing I could wake up from this horrible nightmare

Dear diary,
It's been five years since that awful day
I miss her more then words can say
I wish my feelings could just melt away
Into a puddle of grey dismay
THE NEXT DAY
"Sissy wake up! you're late for school!" I open my eyes and sit up straight, looking around "Diamond?" I say, "C'mon! Mom's waiting for us in the car!" I shake my head and lay down, my eyes on the ceiling, my sister's voice ringing in my ears, pacing in and out of my head. The ceiling turns into a great blur as I start to forget where I am, my eyes slowly begin to close. I try to find something, Anything to wake me up or get me out of this terrible state I'm in. Everything feels numb and I can't move. I stop fighting and accept my fate.
