Starring across at CeCe I could tell that she had seen the same thing I had. Mum as a mermaid in a beautiful city under the sea and somehow ending up on the shore with dad. And yet somehow we were both soaked, not by sweet but as if by rain. "CeCe, are you alright?" Getting up to head to her a shot of pain ran through me causing me to double over, looking up CeCe was feeling the same. Staring at each other a sudden feeling passed through me. CeCe's eyes turned a deep blue and at that moment she began to glow the same deep blue.

"Maria, you're eyes, there purple," shocked by this I lifted my hands to see of I was flowing and I was. Reaching for CeCe I felt a rushing current flow through me and into CeCe and as our fingers touched, the current became a rushing storm, smashing up my insides yet somehow I felt no pain and I could tell that the same thing was happening to CeCe. And soon darkness started to creep into my vision but o tried to cling on to CeCe.

"CeCe, hold on," but she was already slipping away and I could tell that she was asleep. Were we dying? If so it didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would so I just accepted the darkness and fell.

"Girls wake up, you have to pack your things!" Dad's voice carried up the stairs, throwing me out of bed. Slowly getting up I felt slightly more at peace about going someplace closer to the sea. Getting up and heading to my room I ran my hand slowly over CeCe's head but I stopped. Her skim was smooth, her blonde hair was blue and she was dripping wet. I ran to the bathroom and stood staring at myself in the mirror. My brown eyes and hair were purple and I too was dripping wet. Running my hand over my bare wet arms they too felt smooth.

"Maria, what's going on?" CeCe's tired vice shock me from my trance. Together we stared at each other for what seemed like forever.
'What's happening, her eyes are the same blue as her hair?' Thoughts were running wild through my head but something just felt different from  normal, some of these weren't mine. "CeCe, we should go get our stuff together, grab all your clothes and anything else you want to bring," pushing aside these thoughts I bent down and hugged her, hoping she couldn't sense my worry. Standing up I walked into my room to change, pulling out a hoody I pinned my hair back, pushing it under the hood hoping no one would see it. Quickly shoving all my clothes and new togs into my rucksack I went into CeCe's room to see her dressed nearly exactly like me, other than the fact her hoody was pink and mine blue. At this I couldn't help but laugh. "Come on sis, let's go."

"Bye girls, please call when you get there," watching did try to act calm around the drivers made me sick. Why did dad hire a really expensive car  and driver just to take us to the airport? He'd just stood up from hugging CeCe and she looked like she was about to cry. Before he had the chance to hug me I grabbed CeCe's hand and lead her out the door.

"No, I won't go!" Feeling CeCe's hand pull free from mine I looked back to see her running toward the house, tears streaming down her face and hair flying high. But the pain we felt before returned, forcing her to tumble, tears flowing harder. And then, out of nowhere it began to pour, the rain trickled down my upturned face as I allowed the water to soak into me. I stood there, in a state where I didn't know what was happening around me. I didn't even realized that a mighty wind had begun to pick up, forcing the rain into a cyclone, making it nearly impossible for anyone to stand.

"Get them in the car now!" I didn't even notice what was going on until I was sitting in the car with heaters blasting at full to try and dry us that I noticed the destruction of the street, cars overturned, doors half missing and people screaming for their family now that the winds had suddenly disappeared. Looking down at CeCe she was still crying and the rain was falling heavier.

"CeCe, you have to stop crying!" Yelling over the rain did nothing but make her cry louder. 'That's it, mum's song,' slowly picking her up I began to sing mum's lullaby like before but something was different, as soon as the words left my mouth she fell asleep, outside the rain stopped. "Let's hope she stays asleep," I wasn't sure who I was talking to but the car ride to the airport seemed to drag out longer than it needed to.

During the plane trip to Australia I constantly tried to wake CeCe but never once did she stir, I hoped that she hadn't gotten sick from being in the rain. When we landed I thought for sure the bump of us landing and the sound of tire hitting gravel would wake her up but still she didn't stir. "Please CeCe, wake up," leaning over her I allowed a single tear to fall on to her soft checks. But staring at the tear in surprise, it stayed still and soon her eyes fluttered open.

"Are we there already?" Smiling, I pulled her into my arms and together we walked down the stairs into a new world. The sun was starting to dip and all around people had darker skin and were wearing swimmers and a salty breeze was blowing in.

"Hey girls, welcome to Australia," turning around, there stood Aunty Tania, dressed from head to toe in baggy, grass stained clothes.
