Introduction
Closing the envelope shut, I reluctantly turned it over and laid a light kiss on the front. Leaving my barbie pink lipstick stained straight in the middle. It was one of my favorite lipsticks, Ariella gave it to me for my fifteenth birthday.
"Clara? Hey, we need to talk." The voicemail from Ariella suddenly played, her voice echoed around my huge room. "Look, I'm sorry you had to see that. It's just, Ashton and I are meant to be together. Don't you remember when he joked around with me on the first day? He came up to me before you."
No, I don't remember. Because it never happened. Ashton came up to me the first day back in eighth grade. Ariella and I moved schools, well, more like I moved first and then she followed me. But, she always makes sure that it was her who moved first.
It was in PE when I first met Ashton, Lucy introduced him to me. He was quite the jokster back then, but it seems like as people grow up, we mature. It's ashamded Ariella never matured, she's still the stupid little girl she was in eighth grade. I mean, she's only fourten and in high school. She skipped first grade.
"Anyways, I'm sorry you had to see that but Ashton and I are going out." If my heart would be able to break even more, it would. But, I'm all empty inside. "Let's hang out later today, okay?"
With a simple, short beep, her voicemail ended. Leaving me in nothing but tears. Brushing my hair back with my hands, I closed my eyes and quickly thought about my plan. Do I really want to do this?
"I'm gonna love ya," My phone went off, yelling at me that someone is trying to call. "Until you hate me."
Checking my phone, his face appeared. His gorgeous green eyes always mesmerized me. They would change depending on what he was wearing. From dark to light green, they were probably my favorite feature on him.
"And I'm gonna show ya," I slowly picked up my phone, leaving my finger on the end button. "What's really crazy."
Letting go, I canceled the call and quickly shut it off before another call came in. I didn't want to grow suspicious so I left the house phone plugged in, where the last voicemail I will ever hear is from Ariella.
Taking the orange small bottle, I slowly opened it and poured some pills into my palm. Closing the lid, I stared at the pills in my sweaty hand. Moving them back and forth, I took my glass of water and placed all the pills into my mouth, all at once. With a quick gulp, the pills went down.
"Clara!" It was another recent voicemail. From Ashton. "Why aren't you picking up your cell? Please, let's talk. I'm pretty sure Ariella told you already, but we need to talk about us...and where we stand."
I could tell they were kicking in because I was losing all consciousness. My mind was spinning and my legs were growing weaker by the minute. The pills I took must have been extremely strong if they were taking an effect so quickly.
Slowly standing up, I walked towards my bed and took a quick seat before I lost my balance on my cold wooden floor.
"I'm leaving to go back to Florida in about an hour," Laying on the bed, my eyes grew weak. "If you don't call me back within that time, then I never want to speak to you again."
With another short beep, he was gone. His angelic voice was gone from my hears, which started began to make me hear short beeping sounds.I soon couldn't feel my arms and legs, thankfully, I was already comfortably on my queen bed. With tears slowly falling from my eyes, I only had one last thing to say to Ashton.
"Goodbye."
