"So how did you guys meet?" Mali asks from the passenger seat. Cal is driving and I got stuck in the back.
"Uhm....well...we have the same 4th period so when I talked to him for the first time, we just kinda hit it off." I reply so Cal doesn't have to answer.
"Oh. So my brother was being a wussy and didn't wanna talk to you first?" She says
"Mali!" He whines.
I laugh awkwardly. "Ahm...yeah I guess."
"I'm sorry. I love this little guy to death," she says giving Cal a nuggie "but I mean, an older sisters gotta do what an older sisters gotta do. In this case, it's make fun of him."
"Or you can be an amazing sister and just stop talking." Cal says with a smirk on his face.
Mali shakes her head. "Mmm....nahh I'm good." And we all laugh.

As we pull into Cal's driveway I notice that his house is dramatically smaller than mine. Its a single story with a small front yard. His house is a very light baby blue. It seems like it couldn't have more then 3 or 4 bedrooms max.
"Yeah I know its no mansion like your house but at least its something." Cal says in my ear.
"I'm sorry its just a lot smaller than I had thought." I say helping him with Mali's bags.
"Its fine. We've been meaning to move since my father....you know....but we just haven't had the money or the time." Cal says.
"So, what are we gonna do first? Go to the mall? Go see Hollywood walk? Go to the observatory? What are the plans?" Mali says grabbing her last bag. She has 3 bags. How long is this woman staying?
"How long are you staying?" I say without thinking. "I mean if you don't mind me asking." God I sound so stupid. Way to go Lucas!
"Shes intended to stay for about a week or two if her work doesn't call her back early." Cal says opening the house door. I was right. The living room is quite small and there are 3 bedroom doors in my view. "You'll be staying in your old room Mals."
"Aww! I miss you calling me that." She says
"What do you work as?" I ask as we enter her room.
"I'm a publisher for a magazine." She says
"Woah. Big shot. Where at?"
"New York. I was going to college in New York and I got an offer by a big company and I couldn't resist."
"That's great!" I say.
"Alright Mals, mom said she had to run to the store real quick but she'll be back in like 10 minutes." Cal says. "We'll be in my room if you need anything."
"Alrighty Cal-Pal." She says with a grin.
"Oh not that again!" He says
"Come here." Mali says wrapping her brother in a hug. "I've missed you, you know that right?"
Calum gives in and wraps his arms around her. "I've missed you too. Now unpack you lazy butt." He says and walks off laughing. I trail behind him.
