The Leaving

Knight StrongWolf stood speechless in reaction to what he just heard. Finally he spoke.
"W-what?"
"We think it's best that we split up." Awesome SpeedyCheetah said.
"Look, working with each other was fun, but we think it's best if we go our own ways." Talon added.
"I don't understand. We are a team. We work together." Knight argued.
"No Knight, we worked together, but for that past few months are bonds have, well, broken." Laughing Hyena responded.
Knight looked heartbrokenly at his friends. His teammates. How could they do this? This was their home. This was their duty.
"We want you to tell Greely for us." Talon said.
"Why can't you tell him yourselves?" Knight asked coldly.
"Oh, don't play dumb, Knight. It's obvious you've always been his favorite. You're the wolf, like him, you're the strongest, you're like his little classroom pet." Speedy said.
"That's not true." Knight said angrily. How dare they accuse Greely of favoritism?
"Really? It isn't? Because who, do you recall, was always getting out of punishments? Who was always put in charge of missions? Who was it, Knight? Who was it?"
Knight looked down at his paws. Greely always did seem to have a soft side for him.
"Me." He replied solemnly.
"Exactly. We don't have a place on a team where all teammates aren't treated equally." Speedy said harshly. He turned around and began to walk away. Talon followed him. Laughing Hyena turned to face Knight and put his paw on Knight's shoulder.
"Goodbye, Knight StrongWolf." He said before also turning around and walking away.
They'll come back. He thought.
