Another cold and dreary Monday arrives out of nowhere, but I'm slightly relieved that the start of a new working week allows me to align my focus back to my studies.

The upcoming assessments at University have made me somewhat anxious, but I'm glad for Danny's support as I wade through my paperwork.

"Have you managed to separate the theory from the practice examples?" Danny asks, scanning over a draft of my assignment.

"I think so." My brows furrow as I re-read my typed up words. "Oh, except for here." I point my pen to a sentence on the page.

"Yeah, just move that into the next paragraph."

I smile to Danny, taking the document back from him. When I return to my desk, I quickly amend the error.

"You really do know everything," I laugh, hitting print.

Danny shrugs. "Not really. But I was in the same position as you last year, so I just learn from experience."

     "Still, you're good."

I take the papers from the printer, tuck them into a plastic wallet and place them delicately into my laptop bag.

Back at my computer, an email pop ups on my screen, the subject: 'Holiday Approved'.

Clicking into the email, I see that Michael has approved my day off for this Friday. I only just remember that I'm travelling home this weekend.

Oh, and that it's my birthday, too.

I never make a big deal out of my birthday, but my Dad always likes to make a small effort. I know he'll enjoy having me home, and equally, I can't wait to introduce Grayson to him and Lucas.

At 5pm, I thank Danny for his help and throw my coat over my shoulders. My stomach tingles at the thought of seeing Grayson again tonight, and, once I bid Michael goodnight, I shove my bags up onto my arm and amble down the office stairway.

"Hey Mia!" A familiar voice calls to me from behind. I turn, spotting Anderson hurrying down the stairs towards me, his delicate curls bobbing with each step.

     "Hey!"

"It's great to see you again," he says, his eyes wide with happiness.

Anderson looks somewhat different to when I saw him on Michael's birthday; today he wears a white shirt and black trousers, but I can still make out his tattoos underneath the thin material.

"How are things in the I.T world?" I ask, a small giggle escaping me as Anderson quirks his eyebrow sarcastically.

"Oh you know," he says. "Always some sort of computer related problem to sort." We laugh in unison, reaching the reception area and filtering into the cold winds.
