      Dwelling within a townhouse up Onohika road, there is a young, odd girl, still awake into the dark hours of the night.

"KAH NOOO, YOU SHOULD'VE KISSED HER YOU IDIOT WHYYYYY" Luna exclaims to the t.v. while standing on the couch, collapsing back down on it dramatically before aggressively tapping the next episode of the anime she was watching.

It was the middle of summer after her freshman year of highschool and she spent it doing absolutely nothing. Not that she wasn't enjoying herself however...

"SINGING RADIO LEAD AT THE TOP OF OUR LUNGS!" She begins as she mixes the dough for chocolate chip cookies and uses the spatula as a microphone. "SAYIN HERE'S TO NEVER GROWIN UPPP, WOAHH, WOAHH" She shouted next, followed by a bout of twirling and awkward dance moves. All this racket, despite how it was currently 1 in the morning in the later half of the summer.

Her bursts of happiness from being alone with her favorite things at night continued throughout the summer, no matter how bad her day could be, her loud nights were all her own, her safe place despite the world around her and judgements of others.

"Fly me to la luna and let me play among estella" she hummed softly to her soft song playlist while drawing. It was the last week of summer and she was savoring her last bits of freedom before having to become the perfect student again. She looks back at her phone and sees that her best friends had already texted her, asking about her plans for the year. Then suddenly, a tear falls on her desk.

"Ah, not again. You're ok." You don't deserve them.  "You're fine, just listen to the music" Coward, liar, idiot, you won't be able to do it this year. You're a burden to everyone around you. As her nails dig deep into her skin, her thoughts are intruded by the next song, at that point she decides to go to bed with her earbuds drowning out the world.

How is it already the 8th? I could've sworn school was still 3 months away yesterday. I'm not ready for today, however I am ready to see my best friends, I haven't been able to see them since May. They have strict parents and were always busy with family parties or video games. Video games would be for my friend JJ and the family meetings for Ellie. Other than that I didn't talk to anyone else over the summer and I hope school will be chill so we can talk.

      On the neighboring hill a boy sat upside down on the couch watching a movie with his friends. Popcorn was thrown, particularly at him, and then ensued a mess of popcorn and wrestling between the boys as the movie continued to play in the background.

"DUDE ARE YOU STUPID, MY KD RATIO IS ASS NOW BECAUSE OF YOU YOU NOOB" Nick shouted at his friends Coby through corddis. He was rethinking letting his friends play on his console the next time they slept over, which evidently he did not follow through with as many more similar chats would occur through the summer.

It was midsummer and some girls in his large group of friends had planned a beach party, which he, the life of the party had to attend.

After many rounds of volleyball and dozens of jumps into the blue waters the party died down to the whole group of them sitting by a bonfire. There were many couples sitting together, singing along together "Thank you, next,, thank you, next"
or couples slowly beginning to doze off. However one girl was in the wrong place, Nicholas saw his girlfriend, Kayla, chatting with her ex. He stared at them for a bit, and when nothing occurred except some smiles and laughs between the two he decided to ignore it.

That summer consisted of many more parties and late nights with friends, and Kayla, accompanied by your usual drama.

They were at the movie theaters and Nick had his arm around Kayla as they watched another forgettable chickflick. Then Kayla began to kiss Nicholas. At first he didn't mind, then it went down to his neck, and he got uncomfortable. "Kayla."
"What?" She replied with a bit of sass.
"Stop please.." He asked politely, still a bit shocked by the initial action. Kayla moved away and let out a hefty sigh.

First day of school, finally. I can't wait to get back, that idiot Coby probably already has plans for where to go after. Hope he doesn't keep me put too long, there will probably be a lot of homework. God I sound like a nerd, Kayla would be so annoyed if I left early because of homework again. Gotta stay chill. No raising hands in class, no teachers pet this year, just chill. Yeah, I got this, just like any other year.

"Yep, this year is gonna be great" thinks Luna and Nicholas sarcastically, not knowing jusy how much the year would change the two teens.
