CHAPTER ONE - THE DISCOVERY

"One rule. We always had to keep, no matter what." Aisha spoke in her mind while touching the gate.

"Never leave. Never escape." She said,

But what happened when she saw the truth behind it all? 

CHAPTER ONE ------ THE DISCOVERY

Yeeun woke up early in the morning and rushed downstairs in the cube orphanage house.

"Mom, did you need help washing those plates?" She said smiling brightly!

"No, thank you yeeun. Be a good girl and go back to help onda get ready to take her exams!"

The second rule. Take tests every day. Why are we evaluated like this? Aisha thought, but quickly stopped once she heard "mom" walking up the stairs. The mom they've always had. The only person apart from the other kids at the orphanage that they know.

She quickly proceeded with her best friend yiren to the testing room.

As always, her, Elkie, and seungyeon got the highest marks.

The children of the cube orphanage then went outside, looking to play

a game of tag.  "One, two three!" Everyone shouted before the group said not it.

The one left to seek was aisha.

How boring she thought, walking and walking with the timer in her hand, waiting for it to be over.

She could easily get everyone out there, but she decided to get everyone else except seungyeon. For some reason, seungyeon was always hyper, and seemed to not care, and love life the way it was. How dumb is a thought like that she thought?

But she still went ahead and got her bye faking an arm injury then tagging her. Before they went back to the cube orphanage.

"Every time someone leaves the orgaphange, they always say they'll write letters but they NEVER DO" mia whined

Aisha thought to herself about that but before she could say something, eunbin cut her off.

"Don't worry guys, I'll write a lot of messages and tell you everything once I leave and get into a family!" She said smiling with her little doll

"I forgot..." seungyeon said as she was about to start crying over eunbin leaving. Eunbin was the one who connected with seungyeon the most and seungyeon knew she would miss her.  But through the doll she gave eunbin, she would always be connected to her.

The pretty, innocent doll, just like eunbin.

The pure soul.

Everyone had a talk with eunbin and started to say their goodbyes, when "mom" came bye to take her. Before eunbin left the cube orphanage, she said the following words "I love you all so much. Thank you for making me live the best life here, and I'll be looking forward to talking to you once I get adopted!" She said smiling brightly and waving goodbye.

Mom then took her. But quickly after seungyeon realized eunbin forgot the doll. The doll whos always been there for her, who she loves so deeply.  Elkie decided to step up and say both of them should try to get it back to her.

In the back of her mind, while Aisha saw this, she thought what about the rule? Crossing the gate? But decided to keep quiet as they ahd already rushed out to leave.

Running through the garden, elkie and seungyeon. They saw a light and figured it must be mama, but instead they saw something else. It was a truck, seungyeon said that must be how they leave to drive to the families!

Right? Or maybe she was wrong.

There was a curtain to open. Maybe eunbin was in there? As elkie opened it, fear shook down on the two of them.

Their legs were trembling, they couldn't breathe. The thing they thought could never happen, something they never imagined. Eunbin dead hung upside down.
