The whole store had a fresh aroma of pizza. The floor was marble, and the entire interior had a red, green and white color scheme to it (like the colors of Italy). Each table had an Italian flag in the middle of it, with pepper and salt stationed right next to the mini flag. The menu above the counter flickered a few times, on and off. I spent a few seconds sniffing the air as I waited at the counter.

A teenage boy emerged from the back, and smiled. He had curly orange hair, wore braces and was covered in many freckles.

"Welcome to Little Italy. I'm Tommy and I'll be taking your order. Sorry you had to see the neon sign out front flicker out of control. I'm heading out to fix it in a few minutes. Boss isn't in because the constant flickering of the sign caused him to have a seizure so he's taking the night off."

Well, OK...why do they give me a story when I never ask for it?

"What would you like?"

"A large pepperoni pizza." He nodded. I paid him as he went to make it. I could go back in the car and wait but I found Jamie too unbearable. Instead, I chose a seat at the very far end of the restaurant, in a corner. I tapped my fingers on the solid surface, staring off into space.

I heard the door creak open. I sighed. Jamie really can't last that long without me, can he? I know I'm irresistible, but really---

"Howdy, partner, I found us masks to wear for our trip," he took out two Halloween masks. "I also have wigs if you wanna wear that. I keep all these disguises in the back of my car. If they ask any questions when we go to deliver pizza, we could tell them---"

"Jamie, you circus clown," I hissed. "We'll talk more in the car where we have privacy, not inside here where someone might be listening."

"All right, fine," he held his hands up like he was being arrested. "Sorry, I was a little too excited." He threw the mask at me. I caught it with my expert grip. "Just try it on Rain."

"It's Raven and just go!"

He quickly sprinted to the counter and grabbed a can of pizza sauce.

"Are you...stealing?"

"I'm part of the police, I can do anything. Now excuse me, as I eat all by myself, lonely in that car with nothing but the radio and my phone to keep me company..."

"JUST LEAVE THE DAMN RESTAURANT BEFORE I DRAG YOU OUT BY THE EAR.

He flinched at my tone and then stalked out, his shoulders low. Must be disappointed I chose to wait at a table instead of with him. Also, ew, who eats pizza sauce plain?

I put on the mask. Hmm, it was kind of tight. It was a little hard to breath but at least it had eye slits I could see out of. Oh no, what if Berry recognized me by my eyes? For crying out loud, I have purple colored eyes! And the strings at the back of my head keeping this mask together can break any second...

OK, I'm just overthinking this. Deep breathes Raven, deep breathes...

Ugh, what's taking the pizza boy so long? I'm about to fall asleep on this table.

The door creaked open again. I groaned inwardly. What does Jamie need now? A babysitter?

However, this time, a figure walked up to the counter.

"Hi, I could use some service," the voice sounded low, rough and deep. He was wearing all black. I could only see his back so I couldn't make out much. His snow white hair went down to his shoulders like Prince Charming from Shrek
