-Burning Branch
~~~After throwing knives, I had to duel with Niel. He was so strong... no wonder he won the Hunger Games in District 4!
I fell to the ground, my knives sliding across the floor, and Niel pointed his spear-like stick to my heart.
"You need more training,"
He helped me up. "Your knives never hit a bullseye, not even close. Plus, I gave you chances to push me to the ground in our duel, but you did nothing."
"I-I-I'm... nerv-vous of hurting you." I mumbled.
"Don't be afraid to hurt me! We're strong."
"We're?"
"Yeah! I can see you have potential..."
I smiled at him. Then, his voice lowered.
"You did notice the ladies on this train, right?"
I nodded. Their hair was just like Effie's; hard to ignore.
"Well, they are your stylists for now. To get you prepped-up for the Chariot."
"So, they are temporary stylists, like you are our temporary mentor?"
He had a confused look on his face, and then nodded. "Well, I guess...", he glanced at something on his wrist. "Training's over. We have one more day until we reach the Capitol."
We both walked out of the room.
~~~
I walked into my room, and dashed to the drawers. The picture was still there. I picked it up.
I threw it off somewhere as I heard a knock on the door.
"Destiny?"
I slowly opened my door. "H-Hello?"
It was the two ladies from before; the stylists.
"We we're told to introduce ourselves," they said in unison.
One with blue hair pushed the other, with purple hair, aside. "My name's Elise."
"And I'm Rosetta." said the one with purple hair.
"Very nice to meet you all." I said politely, but Elise was just staring at my hair.
"Your hair is SOO beautiful! How can we show its beauty when exiting the chariots?" she commented.
"That's for tommorrow, Elise...", said Rosetta. "Anyway, our jobs are to style you... She'll do the hair, I'll do the face."
The face? "What do you mean?" I asked.
"Y'know... makeup, blush, lipstick, mascara..." Rosetta smiled.
"Wow, that much?"
"Maybe more!"
Elise looked at me. "Well, we better get going. It's 8:45." She walked away.
"Have a good afternoon." Rosetta said, then walked off with Elise.
I waved, then shut my door. Where did I throw the picture?!
~~~
I couldn't find the picture. Yet, I didn't seem to understand why it was so important...
I glanced at the clock in my room. It was now 9:28... Did I spend that much time searching? It looked like it was gone by now... So, I guess I was off to bed. Before I sat atop my bed, I couldn't push away the feeling of sadness and loneliness. I felt like a mess.
I gazed out the window, thinking about Mother.
