TW: DEATH, GORE, AND SUICIDE

Gerard stared down the beautiful boy in front of him. The red makeup covering his perky hazel eyes, his perfect smile, the scorpion tattoo on his neck, the lip ring that added pressure when they kissed. He sighed smiling at his boyfriend. "I'm so happy," Gerard mumbled, placing his hand on the shorter boy's cheek. "Ever since you showed up in my life, I've been so happy. The feeling of joy used to be so foreign to me, sugar. Now I'm always happy, always on a high." Gerard accepted the embrace of his tattooed boyfriend and they just stood together, entangled in a moment of love. In that moment, Gerard finally said what he'd been wanting to say. "I love you."

Tears fell down Gerard's face as he relived the moment. Lately, all he could think about was holding his former lover close, kissing his soft lips, how his lip ring felt. He longed for a time when he could still do that. His lover is long gone though and he can never feel those lips again. He reached out with his right hand, placed his left hand on his right cheek, and imagined his lover was holding him. A choked sob escaped his lips as he replayed another memory.

Gerard's lover ran a hand through his messy hair, making him chuckle. "Perfection. Right in my arms," he sighed. "A loverboy like no other." Gerard gently kissed his lover's lips and they laid together.  He admired his lover's everything, as he always did.

"You're too good to me, Gee." Gerard just pulled his lover closer and he sighed. "I wish I could be better."

"You're perfect, sugar. You're better than perfect," Gerard stated, kissing the boy in his arms. "I love you."

"I love you too." Gerard and his lover stared into each other's eyes. His lover only felt half present though.

Gerard didn't realize how loud his sobbing was until a figure appeared at the door. "Gerard?," Mikey's small voice rang out. Gerard sat up and turned to his younger brother. "Is it about him?" Gerard nodded and Mikey came over and sat with him.

"I-I miss him. S-s-so much." Gerard felt Mikey pull him close and he just fell into his brother's arms. The thoughts of his lover coming back already, as he wished to be in his arms instead.

"I know. He didn't do it to hurt you."

"But it hurts so much!" Gerard accepts Mikey's brotherly touch as he vents about his former lover. "I loved him, Mikey. With all I had, I loved him. I would have done anything for him. And I— I can't go on without him." Gerard heard Mikey sigh. It wasn't an annoyed sigh, but it wasn't a happy sigh either.

"You can go on without him. You're strong."

"I'm p-pathetic! I wasn't enough for him."

"Yes you were." Gerard sobbed, clinging onto Mikey, the memory of the worst day of his life, playing over and over again in his head. "You know he loved you, Gerard. I know he loved you. He didn't say it much but his eyes said it all. I've never seen anyone look at someone the way he looked at you."

"Then why didn't he stay? If he- if he loved me s-so much, he would h-have stayed for me. I s-s-stayed for him. The least he c-c-could have done was stay for me!" Another memory replayed in Gerard's head as he tuned out what Mikey had to say.

"Darling?," Gerard's lover began to ask. "What happens when I go?"

"Go where?"

"What happens when I leave?" Gerard looked at him, concerned, and took his hand.

"Well, whenever you leave my sight, I sit, and I miss you." His lover nodded and gripped his hand. "My heart longs for your loving embrace. Every moment we spend apart, I feel like less."
