I interrupt him.
"You know what Jooheon, I know you're sorry about what happened and I forgive you. I rather just push all that aside from our work life and focus on our job."
He leans back in his chair and nods.
"Of course. Let's get started then. Today will be working as my assistant. Answer some of my emails, calls, tell me when I have a meeting, fun things like that. So basically you'll be following me around all day."
I smile and nod. "Sounds great! What do you want me to do first?"
"I actually need your opinion on something. If you were to pick your favorite food for lunch, what would you pick?"
I ponder for a second. Why is he asking me something like this? Shouldn't we be doing something work related?
"Umm, maybe some kimchi?"
"Anything else?" He asks raising an eyebrow.
I shake my head.
He writes it down on a note pad and slides it in his desk drawer. A knock on the door abruptly interrupted the silence.
"Come in"
A young man with a suit walks in with a brief case. "Hello Mr. Lee, I have the paperwork about the shipments coming in"
The man lays the case on Jooheon's desk, opens it and hands him the papers. He looks to be as tall as me, he's handsome too. He has dark brown hair and an under cut. To top it off he has a deep, soothing voice. He then turns to look at me.
"You must be new! My name Is Jackson, Jackson Wang. Nice to meet you" He puts his hand out for me to shake. I accept the greeting and begin mine.
"Yes I am new, today is my first day here. And my name is Changkyun. Nice to meet you too." I say with a smile.
"I love your hair Mr. Wang, where did you get it cut?"
"Oh just a couple streets over. Do you want me to take you there sometime? We could grab food too!"
I nod my head. "Sure- yeah that sounds great."
He pulls out his phone and hands it to me. "Put your phone number in, so I can text you!"
I quickly type it in and text myself, then hand it back.
"Thank you!" He says while stuffing it in his pocket. "You look young, how old are you Changkyun?"
"I'm-"
"How about we talk business yes? That's why you're here Mr. Wang?"
I look at Jooheon. Why did he get so upset? Me and Jackson exchange glances when he begins to speak.
"Yes Mr. Lee. Here are the papers that show how much products we are able to send out in this much time. Right here shows how that is slightly decreasing since last October because ...."
I stare out the window and let the words fly around the room. This is boring talk, can't I just start now? I'm beginning to feel a little tired too. I rest my head in the palm of my hand as I watch Jackson explain what's on the paper. Jooheon doesn't look pleased at all.
"I can read the rest later, thank you Jackson."
Jackson grabs his things, bows to Jooheon and exits out the door.
Once the door shuts Jooheon opens up his phone.
"You hungry?"
"No but I'm thirsty."
He crinkles his eyebrows at me. "You only ate a protein bar, that's not breakfast. So what do you want"
"How do you know that?"
He sighs. "It doesn't matter, do you want food or not?"
I stare at him and stumble on my words.
"I-well, I-I don't wanna spend your-"
"Oh my god, it's a yes or a no. I don't need an explanation"
I stay silent.
"Alright then, you're getting eggs and toast."
I look out the window again.
"Not feeling like talking much now? You and Jackson were talking just fine."
I whip my head at him.
"Is that what this is about? Me getting a guys number? Why does that matter to you? You're not my boyfriend!"
His face started to get red, and eyes started to water. I feed bad, didn't mean to make him upset. But he can't get mad at every little thing I do with another guy, he's not my boyfriend.
He sighs.
"Changkyun, I know I'm not your boyfriend. But that doesn't mean I won't be one day."
My face instantly gets red. Is he serious? Does he actually like me or is this a joke. He rubs the top of my hand.
"Do you need water? Your face is red."
"N-No I'm okay. It's just a little hot in here."
He laughs a little while ordering the food on his phone.
"You can take your jacket of if you'd like. I don't mind. Honestly you don't have to wear a suit and tie for me, just wear casual clothes next time."
I let out a soft "okay" and take off my jacket and tie.
"Where do you want me to put them?"
He takes them from my hands and hangs them up in mini closet he has in the back of the room.
"You really styled your hair for me too?" He asks with a laugh.
I turn around in my chair facing his belt, so I
quickly look up."Well I'm working for a guy that can practically hire a hit man and have it covered up, I guess I wanted to look nice." I say sarcastically.
He runs his fingers through my hair and laughs at me again.
"You're funny Changkyun. And your hair is soft too."
I grab his wrist to try to stop him from this madness.
"Jooheon you're going to mess it up" I whine to him.
"Who are you trying to look good for? I'm the only one who you will be occupying. And I think your regular hair style fits you perfectly. Don't style it again, leave it like it is."
I whisper an okay to him.
To be honest I didn't mind him touching my hair, in fact I liked it. But wasn't he just mad at me a second ago? I'm confused.
"Not that I hate you playing with my hair but weren't you just mad at me 2 minutes ago? Are we good now?"
He pulls his hand from my hair and smiles at me.
"Of course we are okay, and I'm sorry for my outburst. I'll try to be better."
"It's okay Jooheon. Now let's talk breakfast."
