I met Rob in kindergarten. We were in the same class and he grew up with my friend Shirley. They had been best friends since birth. For the first time in 11 years I spoke to Rob over a face time that Shirley and him were on. Shirley fell asleep after the fourth hour of the call. Rob and I spoke till early hours that morning, getting to know alittle bit about each other during the call.
After that it had been 3 months of subtle flirting, texting and calling with him. I didn't just want to be friends but I wanted to get to know him first before anything got serious.
November 30th
We had been messaging since the time he left home on the train. While getting ready, trying to find something that would be comfortable enough to throw over my sunburnt back, after 2 hours of swim practice, I stopped and thought to myself "I cannot think of anyone else who would ever travel 8 hours to come and see me".
Rob: I'm about 5 minutes away from the train station
Me: Okay, my mum and I are on our way to get you
We arrived at the station. Looking around for him while in the car. As soon as I saw him I jumped out of the car, not even closing the car door behind me and threw my arms over Rob's neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist. We stood there hugging for a good minute. He smelt so good. After embracing each other I got a proper look at the man he grew to be. Long-ish curly brown hair with coffee brown eyes. I noticed that he had a dark brown spot in his left iris. Broad secure shoulders along with strong arms which fit perfectly around me.
After greeting my mum we hopped in the back of the car and giggled out of nervousness and excitement.
We arrived home. Rob greeted my little sister Lee and my little brother Robert. He met my father, shook hands and chatted a little before we headed up stairs to put his bags in my bedroom.
Rob had brought me a gift. A cute little round dragon whom which I decided to call Mr Cuddles.
After talking for a little I decided that we should go for a walk so I could show him around town. We walked around and chatted about random stuff until we got home. It was hot that afternoon so I suggested that we should go swimming.
We came up to my bedroom and I needed to change. A little awkward silence after I suggested that he needed to wait outside my bedroom so I could change into my bikini. We headed down to the pool and I started taking my shirt and pants off when I noticed Rob taking his shirt off. I gazed over and looked at his body and melted a little.
After swimming we came back upstairs, he waited outside my closed bedroom door as I changed. We started watching a movie which by the end of it, I knew Rob had good taste in movies. After the movie we started another one and a few minutes in Rob paused the movie sat up, crossed his legs and said "I need to ask you something". I sat up infront of him, crossed my legs and waited for his question. A short silence filled the room before "Will you be my girlfriend?" drew from his lips.
