"What do you mean her wolf is dying!" Pierce shouted."That is something that only she can tell you Pierce." Lorena spoke gently to her son.
Pierce's gaze was suddenly fixed on me, as was Alpha Camus's and Lorena's. "Grace, how did this happen?" Pierce questioned quietly.
Tears blurred my vision. His face displayed an amount of pain that made my heart ache. "A witch cast a spell on me when I was a baby. She wanted my grandfather to be punished because he killed the witch's sister." I spoke so softly that I didn't know if he had heard me.
Pierce squeezed my hand as a terrifying, painful growl escaped his lips. "I'll kill her!" He promised.
"No, Pierce." The Alpha's command was one that not even his son could fight. "She may be the only one who can reverse the spell."
"The pack needs her as much as you do Pierce." This time his mother spoke.
"Obviously they need her, she'll be the Luna of the pack." Pierce bluntly stated.
"Grace," Lorena motioned for me to continue my story.
"I am the Silver Wolf." My words burned with truth. Pierce's purple eyes stared back at me, and his face broke out into a proud smile.
"So, my mate is beautiful and gifted?" He pondered to himself.
"Which is all the more reason we need to save her." Alpha Camus stated in a serious tone.
"How long?" Pierce questioned.
It was only fair that he wondered how long it would be until I died. That way, he could plan out his time with me. At the same time, however, it wasn't fair to tell him because he would always be waiting for the day. Dreading the time I would no longer be in his life. It would be hard for not only him, but his pack as well. They couldn't lie without a Luna anymore than Pierce could live without a mate.
"Richard thinks she only had another two years to live." Lorena carefully directed towards her son.
"No!" Pierce growled as he stood knocking over his chair. He then proceeded to slam his fist into the wall, leaving a gaping hole.
The one thing I knew about mates was that only they could calm each other down. I tried to steady my hand as I gripped Pierce's arm. He then turned to face me. I could feel his shaking form calming beneath my fingers. His eyes turned back to their original purple color.
Without warning, I was pulled into a masculine chest. Soothing words were whispered in my ear. "I promise that I will find a way to lift the spell. I need you in my life, as does this pack. I will stop at nothing to save you. I don't care what it takes.
Tears fell from my eyes. The truth in his words rang through my ears. I knew at that moment, that he would become my savior. And I knew, that this pack had the resources and connections to help him do it.
