Night above the City Lights

The whole gymnasium are now filled with the heart burning crowd. Each department is holding their balloons and banners to cheer for their players. Basketball game is the most awaited competition here in Harris University, aside from the fact that it is very entertaining, the students are also aiming to see the handsome faces of their favorite players. Well, I'll not deny it. All players are extremely hot and good looking.

Med and engineering ang naglalaban para sa 1st Place. It's already 3rd quarter and it looks like nagkakainitan na sila. I saw the player from engineering na siniko si Gino kaya sya natumba sa floor. And knowing Gino, for sure gaganti sya. He's not the good-y type of person. He's very competitive and aggressive, lalo na ngayon na nasaktan sya.

"Water." I looked at my side and saw Perseus holding a bottle of mineral water. He opened it before giving to me.

"Thank you." I looked again sa mga players na naglalaro. I even saw Sarah na gigil na gigil sa pagchecheer sa gilid ng court. I get my camera and take a photo of her. I can't help but to laughed. She looks like a cat eager to catch the mouse.

"What's funny? Why are you laughing?" Peseus asked so I tilt my camera for him to see Sarah's photo.

"Her face HAHAHAHAHA." I looked again to the photo and zoom it. "She's so cute HAHAHAHA Oh My God." I massage my tummy because it's starting to hurt when I heard a flashed.

"Hey." He looked at his camera and laughed. "Let me see!" Perseus let me to see my photo but he lift the camera up in case na gawin ko 'yon sa kanya. It is a stolen picture of me, of course. It' not that bad but it's not also good. It's so weird for me.

"Delete it." I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes to him.

"Why?" Still laughing.

"I don't like it." I pouted.

"Why? You look so cute here." He smiled and laugh again. Seriously?

My annoyance fades when I saw Sarah's photo again. I can't help but to burst into laugh. When I saw Perseus looking at me in my peripheral vision, I immediately stop and give him a sharp look before walking away to continue talking pictures.

"Cass! Come here!" Sarah is waving her hand for to come ang join in a group photo.

"Congrats guys!" I said before giving them a smile. Our department won. I'm so proud! Oh my gosh, we won.

We took some more photos and I also asked the players to pose with their trophy so I can also take some pictures for my task. After that, Perseus and I decided to submit all the pictures to our editor. Our org also prepare some food so we decided to eat and hang out with them since this is the last day of H. Week and we will not see each other again often.

"Cass, do you have boyfriend?" Ate Grace asked so all of my orgmates looked at me. Nasa isang long table lang kasi kami lahat.

"No, I don't have, ate..." I smiled.

"When is your last relationship?"

"Well, I never been in a relationship." She looked at me with her eyes wide open. Yeah, about 3 years na kami magkakasama but we never make kwento naman about our love life.

"Really? No way." She shook her head while smiling. "I've heard some rumors that you are dating guys."

"Yeah, but... it was just a friendly date. Nothing serious..."

"You're such a playgirl Cass!" She laughed and I just smiled at her and looked at my food.

I know it was just a joke but there's a part of me feel guilty. It's not true. I didn't date them because I want them to get hurt, no. I'll never go out with them if it was not just because of my mom.

We didn't recognize the time, we have fun talking about different things like photography stuffs, good travel destination, laws, etc. Fun that we didn't even notice the transition. It's already 6:30 in the evening and we decided to go separately na. 'Yung iba kase gusto ng pag pahinga habang yung iba naman ay manonood ng banda sa may field.

I neither know what to do nor where to go. I just found myself seating sa bench hindi kalayuan sa may field. I can hear the band and see the students watching from here. I sighed and looked around. I appreciate the hard work of student council putting all the lights around the place. It's beautiful.

"How are you? Are you happy there?" I looked up and smile. "I want to watch the band with you. You like music right? Sabi mo sakin, you want to be a singer someday. Sabi mo pa nga, gagawan mo 'ko ng kanta."

I let out a heavy sigh. "Please hug me. I miss you hugging me."

"You're really weird." I heard someone talking so I turn my head and saw Perseus standing beside me. Umusog naman ako so he can also sit.

"Kanina ka pa ba?" I asked.

"Kinda. I thought you are talking to someone but..." He looks so serious. "You're alone."

"I'm not." I looked at him and smile. "I'm with my sister."

"Where is she?" He looked around but didn't see anyone.

"Up there." I pointed the sky and looked at the stars . "The biggest one."

Ang tangi kong hiling ay mahawakan

Ang iyong mga kamay at daliri

Habang dahan-dahang haplusin ng mga salita

Ang puso mong sabik mayakap 'pag nag-iisa

"She's dead?" He asked.

I shook my head. "She's alive..." I pointed upper part of my left chest. "Here. Forever."

"She's dead." He said but this time, not a question anymore. "Why?"

"Five years ago, I just went home from school na wala sya. " I looked down trying to hide my face. "She killed herself."

"Kaya ba nakot na takot ka nung akala mo tatalon ako sa may rooftop?" I nooded.

"Do you miss her?"

I looked at him and smile. Hindi ko na mapigilan ang pagtulo ng mga luha ko. "So much. Everyday."

Kaya tahan na, ooh

Sumandal ka, ooh

Hayaan mo na aking paglaruan

Apoy ng iyong labi, oh paraluman

"I miss my sister..."

"Shhh... stop crying..." He wrapped his arms around me. "I'm sure she loves you so much."

"She said she will never leave me but she did..."

"Shh.... I'm here.... I'm here...." He slowly wipe my tears and smiled. "Ako, hindi kita iiwan. Pangako."

And the night ended up with different colors flashed in the sky.

H. Week is ended up with fireworks.
