Dear Wattpad,
Hiyaaa!! My name is Yamamoto Kikyo. Well, actually, that's my fake name, but whatever... Today, I'd like to express my intense hatred towards your Paid Stories deal.
Okay, I understand that people who write paid stories need their stories somewhere. But I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who gets irritated when at least half of my recommendations are Wattpad Paid Stories.
See, every time I get on this site I'm bombarded with constant Paid Stories. But I have no interest in something like "My Hot Werewolf-Vampire-Merman Gym Teacher Fucked Me, the Girl Who Doesn't Think She's Pretty but Actually Is" or some shit like that.
Listen, I'm here for fanfiction. I'm not here for cliche-filled stories that are just a whole bunch of sex and stupid drama. Like, seriously. Give me a damn break. I don't care about sexy werewolves or stupid bimbo blondes. Hey! Not all blondes are bimbos, come on man!!
I suggest that if you are absolutely not interested in these Paid Stories, there should be a way to turn it off in settings. I'm not saying that they won't pop up once in a while, but I can't take seeing some crappy story about "My Hot Roommate Snuck Into my Bed Last Night" or whatever all the time. For the last time, I'm going to flip out if I see something like that nonstop.
I suggest that there should be a way to get Paid Stories, Bestsellers, Chicklit, etc. off of the recommendations. Maybe not permanently, like they'll come on there once in a while, but seriously, I'm going to die staring at abs and wine glasses on my homepage half the time. I just don't care.
There should be a way to turn them back on. Maybe someone wants to see if they can find something interesting. But seeing them all the time is going to drive me insane!
I've already stated this, but I am a fanfiction reader, and rarely step out of that genre unless it's comedy or something that my favorite fanfiction author wrote. I don't like seeing all of my homepage filled with cliche romance stories that I don't like. It's just really tiring to have to deal with things I don't enjoy. I'm certain I'm not the only one who dislikes this, and I'd like to suggest a way to get them off if you don't enjoy those kinds of stories.
This is not intended to offend authors of these stories, I'm just saying that it's just not my style. There are plenty of people in the world that would solely read Paid Stories, Bestsellers, Chicklit, Vampire, Werewolf, and Romance stories, but I am not one of those people. I enjoy fanfiction, not romance. I enjoy action, not sex. I enjoy a funny character, not an attractive older guy. I would just like to find more stories aimed towards my interests rather than stories aimed towards one category.
