Cassie's Tale on Life, Love and Loss

Chapter 13

I turn around to find a tall brunette with her hair in a high bun, wearing a maxi dress and black pumps. Her outfit looks cute today, I had been avoiding looking at her at all costs so I didn't notice until now, but she has good style.

"What do you want Christina?" I hear Axel's voice from behind me as he gently pulls me into him.

"I just overheard that you guys were going to study. But you see, knowing you and that you don't study I wanted to see what was reallyup and I see now that I was right. How could you leave me for her. I gave you two freaking years! TWO!!" She said taking a few steps towards us. Okay maybe I don't care about what I wear as much as you, or a homeless person matter of fact, but I'm not that bad.

"What exactly do you think you know?"Axel asks taking a few steps towards her matching her moves.

"You may have all of your friends fooled thinking that I'm the one that wasn't faithful, but we both know that you've been fooling around with this little nerdy slut. I guess I know that the rumors are true now, once a slut always a slut" she said smugly looking over at me and my mouth opened into an 'O' shape. "Oh, did he not know about your past? My bad"

I began to tense and squirm and I'm guessing Axel noticed because I saw his fists and jaw clench a bit.

"Are you fvcking delusional. Does me walking in on you and Leo ring a bell or do I need to show you the nudes I found that you were sending him to refresh your memory? And don't you dare even talk about Cass or anything she's done" He said taking another step towards the 'Queen Bee' but I grabbed his wrist gently pulling him back so he would relax.

"Who do you think your talking to? And since when do we call them by their names, before you two startedhooking up we called them all nerds. Look you and this skank have fun." She spat then turned to me "and you just stay out my damn way or I promise I will make the rest of you're life hell."

"Well that was fun" he said running his hand through his hair.

"Yea it was a blast. Look, before you ask, I have a tainted past, but I'm not ready to tell you about it, but I will, when I'm ready." He nodded reassuring Mr that he doesn't care about my past eight now, "We should probably get going class starts in like five minutes" I said fixing my bag over my shoulder.

The rest of the day was pretty simple, thankfully,  Axel walked me to my classes. No doubt he got detention for being late to every class except the two we had together. I avoided Christina's evil piercing glares, apparently she has shared our little encounter with her minions because Annabelle and Lily told me that "if I don't stay out of her way she will destroy me before I become known again."

I didn't care about her ruining my life, I didn't want Axel to end up killing her for me, because then the rumors would get serious.

So much for a simple day.

The way Axel defended me and was ready to fight Christina over something said about me, has me thing that maybe Serena was right and Axel does gave some feelings for me. The only thing confusing me now is, why hasn't he told me or made a move on me? Maybe he doesn't have feelings for me, or if he does he's trying not to show them because he doesn't want to like me.

Boys are so confusing!
