Pacing back and forth, Holliday retold the entire story to Madison. Every time she mentioned that her dad was getting married, she got pissed all over again. She couldn't believe how insensitive he was being. She had accepted the fact that they would never be real close due to the divorce and his career but she never expected him to choose another female over her. To add insult to injury, his wedding day was on the same day as the most important day of her life, her graduation. Holliday knew that she would barely be seen as an extra but it was still her graduation and the result of four years of hard work. Once again, she felt a mixture of both sadness and anger with a hint of disappointment. With everything going on in her life, she didn't need or want her dad's bullshit.

Holliday had of course called her grandma to retell the story again. Her grandma sounded distracted as she was preparing for surgery and Holliday instantly felt bad for making everything about herself. She knew at times that she could be selfish but she came from two selfish people so she didn't have a choice but to act as such. All Ms. Lena asked was that Holliday pray with her before the surgery but Holliday was too busy being wrapped up in her own life and personal drama. By the time she made it to the hospital, her grandma was already in the pre-operative room. Holliday truly felt like shit and that feeling only got worse when she saw her mom in the waiting room.

Renee looked like she already had shit to say but Holliday wasn't in the mood so she flicked her off and walked away. She was sick of her selfish parents that only thought about themselves and their life. What about her? What about what she wanted? The only person that could provide any type of relief was currently lying unconscious on a operating table. Holliday tried to call and text Madison but as usual, she was M.I.A. She was really getting tired of her best friend's secretive ways but she knew if she rocked the boat too much, she could be living on the streets. Holliday just wanted some type of security and stability in her life. She craved it and desperately needed it to pursue her career as a professional dancer.

Holliday waited for what felt like days in her car. She returned back to the waiting room to hear some doctor telling her mom that her grandma would be in the post-operative room within the hour. Holliday knew for a fact that she couldn't get any details from her mom so she just walked the halls of the hospital. Her mind started to wonder and she realized how the hospital both gave life and death to every person regardless of money, status, or race. She witnessed the joys of families welcoming new members and the devastating goodbyes of loved ones with a little piece of everything else in between. Part of her wanted to cry but another part of her felt that she was already cried out. When she knew that she had been in her feelings for way too long, she returned back to the area where Ms. Lena was currently located.

Holliday asked a nurse for her grandma's room number and carefully opened the door. She assumed that her grandma was still resting from the surgery because she was peacefully asleep. As she stepped closer to the bed, she heard a voice.

"So she returns!" Her mom stated.

Holliday felt so much rage but kept it inside for the sake of her grandma and didn't respond as she took her grandma's hand.

"I know you heard me little girl and don't think for a minute that I didn't see that shit you did earlier. Try me again and I will lay you out!" Renee challenged her.

Finally fed up Holliday replied, "Try it and you will be in jail quicker than a broke hoe with no pimp. I'm not a kid and if you place your hands on me then it's assault. I will press charges on you in a heartbeat. Believe that!"

"Don't threaten me little girl!"

"Trust me, it's not a threat. Now, if you can't be cordial near my grandma's bed then you need to leave. I don't want this negative energy around her while she trying to recover."
