thoughts in a strange light

the girl who chose plants

   "L! This way!" I stood there. Confused. We weren't here like three minutes ago... Its almost like I blacked out. I'm pretty sure I was just at home, My best friend was at her house, she is a half an hour away, and there was nothing I could do in this moment except to just process what was happening. So I look at Emma, (my best friend) and she tells me, "I chose plants" "what about you?" And I couldn't recall choosing anything. So I simply said, "I didnt choose anything" "I don't even remember coming here." After I said those remarks she had a blank stare on her face like I was talking crazy. I wasnt sure where we were, but I was not about to wait and figure it out the wrong way. We began to walk.

   This place was filled with greenery and colors. Flowers I have never seen before, big and small. And it was bright! I wondered where this bright light was coming from. I couldn't see anything in the sky that could cause this amount of light... As we are walking we start seeing these creatures that I know I have never seen before. One really got me on my feet. It looked like a human but with tentacles all over the body, And the eyes seemed to only look forward.

   We have been walking for three hours now and the amount of light has not dimmed at all. At this point I didnt know what time it really was and I realized I hadn't eaten yet.

*BOOM, BANG* (from behind us)

   "JESUS" I screamed. Emma didnt seem fazed at all. Almost like she didnt even hear it. "L, why did you scream like that?" She said very abruptly. I just heard a rea- "OMG L, LOOK!" I look with pure astonishment. "I'm manipulating this fern!!" *wow* I thought while trying figure out how this is happening.

   It has been over five hours now and emma and I are hot, sweaty, and still have no clue where the hell we are. It almost feels like it's more bright than it was when we got here.

  "I need to sit, we have been walking way too long, and I'm starving!" Emma says while trotting with misery.
"Fine." "I don't know where food is and I have no idea on how to hunt"

   Time is running while we sit here not knowing a damn thing. All of the sudden a huge ship slowly emerges from the horizon, it looks unnerving. My stomach sinks when we hear this ferocious roar come from the ship.

   "WHAT THE FU-" I say, grasping my ears. But yet again Emma tells me its not as loud as I'm actually hearing it. The sound coming from the ship stops.
"Does that mean there are people over there?" Emma says.
"Maybe, but its so far!" "It will take forever to get there.."
But we start walking anyway.
