1.The Truth
I was in a dark place; no sign of light, no moon or stars and not even a glimpse of shine in the sky. There are fires, fogs, caves, invisible cries of the dead and a big bloody river of water everywhere. It was a place you can call Hell.
"HELLO!" I shouted but no one answered. I only heard invisible cries of the dead from a distance until a voice answered me in a whispering manner.
"You're back. Why are you here? How did you get here? You shouldn't be here. Go back, and never ever come back, not until he's around. He can smell you, feel you and even hear you. Please go back." A beautiful, enchanted voice of a woman begged me; it feels like spring when you hear it. I looked around to look for the woman in question but I saw nothing and then I heard another whisper but this time from a man.
"We miss you our daughter but whatever happens, DO NOT COME BACK HERE. You aren't safe here, yet." His voice is hoarse, it was scary and deadly but somehow I'm not scared. Somehow I feel like crying but I don't know why.
"How did she get here?" The invisible woman with a feeling of spring like voice, asked.
"Her gifts must be acting up now that it can take her to places even in her dreams. She's at that age." The invisible man replied.
I don't get any of this. What are they talking about and what's happening? Am I missing something and what's with this dream? I asked this question in my head in confusion.
I woke up with a start. I felt a wet thing on my face; I rubbed it and realized it was tears. I shook my head and chanted to myself the words, It's just a dream. It's just a dream, because it was and I don't want it to go to my head today. Before I lose my shit soon I heard 3 soft knocks on my door.
"Alexia, wake up and get ready for school. You'll be late if you take too long. It's the last day today." My mom said, waking me up.
I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat to answer her. "Yes mom."
I hurriedly went to my bathroom but I didn't bothered to speed up once inside. Its fun being alone, relaxing really, before facing a hard day. After an hour and 30 minutes, I went down perfectly cleaned and dressed, my things are all ready for school.
"Eggs and bacons, honey?" Mom asked when she saw me while offering me the sit beside her in a hand gesture.
"Did you cook this?" I asked in my unbelieved voice.
"Yes." She proudly replied.
"What happen to our cooks and maids?" I giggled at her, imagining the effort she might have put in this food.
"Hey, I can't always count on our servants. I have to do things on my own too you know." She said in a annoyed tone.
"Servant? So old fashion mom. Where did that come from?" I asked with humor and laugh at her language.
Mother looked at me as if she made a mistake and looked down. I gave her a confused look but she didn't see so I just started eating with her.
I examined my mom while eating. Nikki Foy, a single mom that owns a well-known magazine company in Hollywood industry that exposes famous artists dirty secrets. I know what she does is a little mean but she's really nice, for her it's just a job that she has to do. Though some people might say something different, I still love her no matter what.
When I look at my mom, I never saw the resemblance between her and me, actually there's really no resemblance at all. Her eyes are as black as the night but they have a certain unexplained spark that's like a star in the sky and her figure is like a thin model too - very tall and sexy. Her hair is straight with full bangs like one of my best friends, Veronica, but mom's hair color is hot copper while Veronica's blonde.
