"Jordyn!"

Turning my head, I see two of the boys who I reluctantly call my friends.

"Oh hey guys," I greet casually, ignoring the glares coming from the pair of idiots also known as Justin and Caleb.

"Don't 'oh hey' us, missy," Caleb scolds. "Where have you been for the past hour and a half?"

I hold the small bags around my wrist up. "Shopping."

Noticing the small look of surprise on the unnamed stranger's face, I slightly smile. "And just making conversation with..."

"Eli," he smiles to the boys. In return, Caleb and Justin scowls before fixing their glare on me once again. "So you can 'make conversation' with Eli, but you can't let your best friends know where you are?"

Sighing, I cross my legs and lean back into the bench. "Fine. I'm sorry I didn't let y'all know where I went. There. Are you happy?"

"It'll due for now," he responds sassily.

"Where are Brandon and Harrison," I ask, noticing that tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum must've been ditched three times.

Just as the words slip from my mouth I see the second pair of boys, finishing the set. Speak of the devil and both of his spawns shall appear.

"Right there," Justin answers while pointing. I roll my eyes.

Caleb turns to face the pair who were either oblivious to his scowl or simply ignoring it. "And where have you two been?"

"Food court," they both answer nonchalantly.

"And just like Jordyn you didn't think to let us know," Justin interjects.

I don't know how, but Justin and Caleb were simultaneously the immature and the 'parent' friends. I guess it's a necessary balance, but wow. It's so weird.

"I did technically let you know where I was. The both of you are just mad about the when part of when you receive that information," I add before their interrogation could continue.

Justin shifts his glare towards me. "We also found you talking to a stranger. Hush, child."

I throw my hands up defense. "Fine."

With that, they continue their interrogation. Looking over, I can't help but notice the look of pure confusion painted on Eli's face.

"Sorry about them. They're like that," I apologize, not really having an explanation for the way my friends are.

"It's fine," he chuckles. "They're just being good friends."

I smile, getting ready to respond. But just as the words start to form, I'm interrupted.

"Come on, Jordyn." Looking over, I see the four boys with their bags gathered, looking ready to leave.

"Well," I stand. "Guess that's my cue to leave. It was nice meeting you, Eli."

"You too, Jordyn."

I begin walking over to the boys when I notice the glare Harrison seemed to be giving me.

"What's wrong with you," I ask nearing him.

"Nothing. Nothing at all," he responds in a hardened tone, throwing an arm over my shoulders. Deciding not to push it, I brush it off. "Alright then. Well carry my bags for me."
