Chapter - 23

"Lady Fates. Lady Iris. What brings you here?" Diana said with respect.

Everyone jumped when they noticed the 4 figures. 3 of them looked like old ladies, but power swirled in their sunken eyes. The other was youthful, had blonde hair that ended in the colors of the rainbow. Her eyes changes color as well.

"Who are you and how did you get here?" Batman asked, and Robin stiffened at the sight of them.

"I'm Iris, Greek goddess of Rainbows." She said, smiling softly.

"Wait what?" Super man said, not entirely sure he heard it right. Even though he had super hearing.

"Greek Gods exist child. Along with Romans, Norses, Egyptians and Indian" The Old Lady in the middle said.

"I don't believe you" Robin said finally.

"You have an Amazonian Princess that's Zeus' daughter" Iris said, shrugging. She did have a point.

"Why are you here?" Miss Martian asked.

"For future events to progress, we need to show you Our Mistress' past" The Old Lady on the right spoke.

"Your Mistress?" Robin asked.

Diana's eyes grew wide.

"She means Amy" She said.

Everyone stared at the goddesses with wide eyes. Iris took that as a yes. She waved her hand, and a large screen like thing appeared above everyone.

"I'll try toning it down...." She whispered. Superman heard her, and stared with wide eyes.

It couldn't possibly be that bad.

Right?

"My little goddess...." A woman crooned over the cradle. A two year old girl with raven-black hair was sleeping in the large cradle.

"She's precious.." A man said, standing behind the woman, with his hands on her shoulder.

"Is that....?" Red Robin's voice trailed.

"Yes. Her foster parents." Iris said.

A loud growl was heard, and the couple looked up, eyes wide with horror.

"It's too soon.... It can't be...." The woman whispered, tears gathering at the corner of her eyes. The man frantically locked the room and the doors. But it was of no use.

An enormous Hell Hound broke through the door, and it's red eyes stared angrily at the woman. She was crouching over the cradle, protecting it.

Everyone gasped at the creature. It was terrifying, with its obsidian fur and beady red eyes.

It barked, and ran towards the woman. She screamed in pain as it bit down in her, literally tearing her to pieces. Chunks of flesh and blood splattered on the walls. The baby woke up, and screamed. Waves of power pushed the Hellhound away and towards the wall.

Unfortunately, the hell hound crushed the man when it slammed against the wall. It howled as the building crumbled upon it. The poor baby kept screaming for her parents.

"Oh my god......" Night Wing whispered. Miss Martian's hand was over her mouth as she stared wide eyed in horror.

Tears were pricking the corner of everyone's eyes, including Batman.

"The worst part? She has a power that helps her retain perfect memory." Iris whispered sadly.

This meant that she was never free from this nightmare.
