Tales of the Sand

Katsumi was actually a decendent of a noble family. She was the niece of Suna's former Kazekagze the famous Gaara of the sand. And her father was Kankuro, the intrepid Puppet master who inherited the secret Jutsus of the infamous rogue Shinobi Sasori of the Red Sand.
  Twenty four years ago when Sasori was still an active member in the criminal organization The Akatsuki, Gaara of the sand -Katsumi's uncle- was still a teen but he had comprehended the true meaning of peace, thus he loathed wars and violent conflicts that only result in blood shed  and plant the seeds of hatred between nations.         
   Few years after Gaara became the Kazekage of the Hidden sand village, the fourth Great Ninja war exhalted resulting in a an enourmous change of the balance of power between the five dominant Ninja villages. As a young Ninja Leader, Gaara decided that it's best to  hinder any chaotic endeavors that come from hidden or lawless organizations and cute them out before they give rise to new conflicts that can't be stopped. As a result, he sent his older brother Kankuro with a dispatch towards the seven major Ninja villages in order to persuade them to commit into a peace treaty they agree upon its items later.
  Carrying out the young Kazekage's will, Kankuro set out towards his new destination leaving behind him a young wife and his five years old child named Katsumi.

  Years and months had passed from that date and neither Kankuro nor his companion returned to the Hidden Sand village.. until one day a mysterious raven haired Shinobi arrived to Gaara's mansion and  claimed that he is a messenger from Kankuro who -tragically- got assasinated by some mercenaries in his way towards the village Hidden in the Grass, but before he dies he entrusted him with a secret message only the Kazekage should know.
  This terrible news flipped the whole village upside down and made Gaara think about invading the Hidden Grass, however, he suddenly got sick which forced him to delay the military operation to a later time...
  Katsumi was always close to Gaara, following him around like a puppy since she was five years old. It had been so cute and Katsumi loved seeing him pull constant pranks on her father. Even when Kankuro was  away from the village , Gaara added a much needed balance for the family and the little Katsumi seemed a lot more happier.
When it came to looking for a partner, Gaara looked for someone who could handle Katsumi's mood and her secret ability. Kyuseishu, even though being an outsider from Sunagakure, was a perfect fit.
 And now, thirteen years later Kyuseishu was thrown to his new mission like meat tossed into a lion's den..
